Tanya and Ashley walked to the biology classroom together. Ashley was gabbing up a storm about her time in New York.

"Then he had the nerve to tell me I was sexy, and asked me if I was seeing anyone. Well, I told him he was way to old for me, and that I wasn't interested in a relationship." Ashley said while giggling. "If I saw him today, I might have taken him up on the offer, but back then I wasn't ready."

Tanya was unable to finish her statement as Mrs. Brunner walked into the room and called for quiet.

"Today class, we will be starting our study of human reproduction..."

Several students in the class started giggling behind their hands, while others turned red and looked down. Tanya looked around and noticed Gabe talking to Frank behind his hand, and then Frank looked at her and smiled. Tanya blushed and figured her face matched her hair.

"God, Frank is the dreamiest guy in school." She thought. "If only I could work up the nerve to talk to him."

Ashley noticed Tanya looking back at Frank and thought, "He must be the guy Tanya wants."

Ashley had decided to sit next to Tanya at the beginning of class, and Tanya hadn't made any negative response, so she was in prime position to elbow her without anyone noticing. Tanya looked at her and whispered, "what?"

"Why aren't you paying attention, you don't want to get in trouble, do you?" Ashley whispered back.

"No," and with that said Tanya started listening to what Mrs. Brunner was saying.

"... then class when the person reaches the age of puberty, usually around the age of 10 to 12, the pituitary gland starts releasing hormones to all parts of the body.."

Tanya started thinking about Frank and zoned out again. Ashley noticing her glazed over eyes, bumped her again and whispered, "what are you doing?"

"Thinking about Frank." Tanya replied then thinking about what she said, blushed brightly.

"... the ovaries, after the pituitary gland starts sending the correct hormones to it, begin sending the hormones: estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. Estrogen kick starts the female secondary sexual characteristics. Please look at the board and write these down for your notes."

Mrs. Brunner started writing on the board and everyone got to work writing them down.

The students packed their things and started heading for their lockers and the next class. Ashley stood and started to walk out, but before she did, she noticed Tanya hadn't moved from her chair.

"Tanya, what is going on with you?"

Mrs. Brunner looked up from her desk, and noticed Tanya was still sitting. "Are you alright dear? Do you need to see the nurse?" She asked, noticing her flushed complexion.

"No, I'll be fine." Tanya replied.

Tanya and Ashley walked out of the class. When they got to their lockers. Ashley started asking more questions about what happened to Tanya during class.

Tanya deflected the questions as best she could, but Ashley was having none of that.

"Answer me Tanya." She demanded. "You were thinking about Frank back there in class. Is he the one that doesn't pay any attention to you?"

"Yes." Tanya blurted out before she could control the conviction to talk. "He's the one who pays me no mind, even though I look like this." Pointing out the better aspects of her body as emphasis.

"I think he was paying attention to you today, though." Ashley smiled. "In fact, it seems he couldn't keep his eyes off you the entire class."

"Do you really think so? Tanya said hoping.

"Really, but if you don't talk to him, you will never find out. Tanya, please go over and talk to Frank about how you feel about him." Ashley asked while pointing Frank out to Tanya.

In her head Tanya screamed, "NO!"

Instead she said, "Okay," and her body started walking over to Frank.

Ashley stood dumbfounded as she watched Tanya walk over to Frank.
