House Rules [Author's notes]

Thanks for reading! If you’re not familiar with the rules of the show, they are here. Read those first, or nothing will make sense ever. This season of Harem Hotel is taking on some changes from the default format:

The Bet - The entire season is playing out a wager between Al and Ruby, with the following terms

1) At stake is control of the Harem Hotel - Casino set. The winner will become the solo host of the show moving forward, while the loser will be demoted to their prior role - They’ll just have to wait for the next HH opening, in perhaps a few centuries’ time.

2) During the season, Al and Ruby will split the power typically afforded to a solo host. This means that they will be limited in their power to act alone.

3) Each of them will select women from the Master’s life for their team. As Al selected the Master, Ruby selects four contestants to his three. At the end of the competition, the Master will select one of the contestants as his Queen. Whichever host’s team she belongs to at that time will win the bet, and that Queen will win the competition (and receive the wish).

4) The Contestants are not initially aware of the bet, but they may learn of it over the course of the season.

5) If a host’s entire team is eliminated, the host loses the bet.

6) Challenges may be team or individual based, but each contestant maintains an individual VP score which will rank them and affect the transformations received.

7) Contestants cannot switch teams normally, but opportunities may arise for that to happen. A contestant will not be able to leave her team if doing so would eliminate the host. If she has any transformations which relate to her team or the opposite team, those will flip accordingly.

And of course, the most important rule of all:

8) It’s only cheating if you get caught.

Minor tweak: BPs are referred to as Chips. The hosts and contestants “know” how many belong to each contestant, but they are physical casino chips and can be stolen, gambled, or lost as part of the game.
