Holly's Hypnotic Journey Begins

Holly should have been nervous as she sat in Dr Lewis' waiting room the next morning waiting to be called in, but she was strangely calm.

Or perhaps not strangely, since he had used the curse to remove all of her anxiety completely. She could hardly complain about that, it was what she had come to him for in the first place after all. But there was a big difference between lessening it, or bringing it under control, and removing it entirely. Her fight or flight response to troubling situations had gone. It wasn't like she didn't understand when something was bad, like what was about to happen to her in this session, or that she didn't mind. But her body didn't react in the way it should, and her emotions didn't alter. It felt unnatural, and almost dangerous. And she didn't kid herself that Dr Drake had done it for her benefit. He had essentially removed all resistance from her for what he planned to do next.

"The Doctor will see you now"

The receptionist couldn't hide her look of disapproval at Holly as she spoke. She didn't know what was going on. What business would Dr Lewis have clearing his entire schedule for a young woman who was highly attractive but otherwise unremarkable. This didn't even seem subtle and the doctor was a married man. Holly found she couldn't be phased by the woman's obvious judgement and walked though to the doctors office.

"Good morning Holly" he smiled as she entered "Now Holly, I would like you to remove everything you are wearing and take a seat in front of me"

Holly was more than a little surprised to be asked to do this the moment she stepped through the door, but of course complied, and did so in a calm and measured manner without any further prompting.

Dr Lewis looked at the nude girl sitting in front of him like the beautiful blank canvas she now was to him. However, he continued to talk to her in his usual professional tone and demeanour.

"Thank you for your cooperation, Holly. Today is going to be about testing the authenticity and limits of your curse. Naturally I will need to make you do things you wouldn't normally to ensure my plans for you are feasible. I am pleased to say you have just passed the first test with flying colours" the doctor smiled, as Holly continued to sit in front of him wearing nothing but a blank expression "I want you to be assured that everything that happens in this room today will remain private, and I have left strict instructions for us not to be disturbed. Now, we are going to be spending a lot of time together going forward and I want you to be comfortable with me and for us to enjoy a strong working relationship. So please let me know if you have any questions.

"What if I don't want to do this?" Holly asked in an almost monotone voice "Because I don't"

"I'm sorry, Holly" was the only answer the doctor was prepared to give to that "Do you have any other questions?"

"What about my job? What if people I know see me doing the sort of things you were talking about yesterday?"

"First of all, I will be making sure you are fairly compensated for your performances, and I anticipate the money we will both make from this will be substantial" Dr Lewis began, like a sales pitch that might give Holly the illusion of having had a choice here "But it shouldn't be incompatible with your day job, should you wish to maintain it. I have to work too of course, so performances will be limited to evenings and weekends. Venues and audiences will be small and intimate, advertisements circulated only to groups of individuals with a specialist interest in the kind of hypnotic displays we will be putting on, and performances strictly to be filmed only by myself and heavily password protected to be accessed only by paying customers. The idea is not to try and market you to the masses, but to select audiences of people who will pay vast amounts of money for more intimate and bespoke performances that cater to their specialist tastes"

If that was supposed to make Holly feel any better, it hadn't worked. She had one more question, and it was one she could not have imagined ever asking, even twenty four hours ago.

"Can you give me my anxiety back?" she asked in a neutral tone "I feel like I have lost a part of myself without it. I feel like less of a person. I would like to be able to communicate more clearly when I find something you want me to do abhorrent or frightening so you can take my emotions into consideration"

Again, the doctor's response was bleakly clear.

"I'm sorry Holly, it's better this way" he told her firmly "Do you have any other questions?"

Holly shook her head. This Q&A seemed like a pointless exercise. Dr Lewis had clearly already made up his mind what he was going to do with her and was just letting her know, not seeking her views or approval.

"Okay then" he smiled his most professional smile "I now need to make you carry out an exercise to completely satisfy me of the robustness of your curse and your inability to resist even the most unpalatable of orders, so I apologise in advance for it's crude nature. Holly, we will begin now"
