Holiday with Kate

You decide to go and ask Kate if you can have the spare ticket for the holiday, if you can't see your family you might as well have a nice tropical holiday and relax on the beach somewhere. You finish eating your lunch and go to the house across the street where she lives, you two have known each other since you were born since you're the same age so you're sure she'll let you have the ticket even if she doesn't spend the whole holiday hanging out with you. She'll have her friends after all so they'll probably not want to ruining their girls holiday but that's fine, you just want to know if she'll let you have the ticket since they apparently don't need it.

You ring the door bell and wait a few moments before Kate answers the door "oh hey there stranger, it's been a while since you've been here" she say's in a bright cheerful way. "Yeah hey Kate, I just got back for the summer actually and there is something I wanted to ask so here I am" you let out an awkward laugh, you've always been bad at asking people for things so you're feeling a little uncomfortable turning up out the blue to ask for a free holiday. "Sure thing why don't you come inside first and I'll get you something to drink" she say's walking back inside as if you already agreed, you'd say something about it but considering what you're about to ask you decide not to.

After getting you a drink of orange juice Kate walks over and asks "so what did you need?" you figure it's best to start with what you mom told you "well basically I came back to visit family but it turns out my mom and dad are going to be leaving all summer long". "That's just like them" Kate says rolling her eyes, you then continue with "yeah, so my mom told me that your were round the other day saying you had a spare ticket for your holiday. I was wondering if maybe I could have it? if you're worried I'll get in the way of your girls trip I promise that I'll keep out the way". She seems to think about it for a while "hmmm, I don't think it's fair for me to just give it away without asking the others, we all agreed before offering it to your sister after all, I'll ask them what they think is that ok?". You jump at the chance and say "of course it is I'm the one looking for a free holiday I can't say anything about how you decide to say yes or no". Kate then sends a message from her phone and a few seconds later there's a few responses, she reads through them and laughs "Sorry is it ok if I take a picture of you to send". You're a little confused but say yes, who knows maybe one of them is asking what you look like so they can hook up with you on the holiday, or maybe that's hoping for too much.
