No way in hell are you going to hire Gemma. That’s a recipe for getting fired, getting divorced, and getting your entire life ruined. What you need is to stay as far away from her as possible, and if she’s not working at your firm, she won’t have any excuse to access your building. You hire the most qualified person for the job.

Surprisingly, Gemma stops bothering you. No texts, no nudes, no calls, no unexpected visits. You don't hear a peep out of her for well over a month, and your life begins to return to normal. You’re enjoying a weekend at home with Rebecca, sitting out in the backyard taking in the sunshine, when out of the blue she asks you a question.

"The weather is getting nicer," she says, "I was thinking of inviting Steven and his daughter to the beach house for a weekend. I'm sure they're well settled in by now from the move, and some time away might be nice. What do you think?"

You freeze. A weekend away with Gemma sounds like an absolute nightmare. Then again, you've got no good excuse to say no. After all, Steven is one of your oldest friends, and it would seem strange if you were to say it was a bad idea. And at the end of the day, it's only a weekend. Your best bet is to avoid situations where you and Gemma are alone at all costs, and you should be more than fine. You've just got to remind yourself not to be weird around her, or put yourself in risky situations.
