The next day you head to the HR Office and have a meeting with Sarah to discuss who to hire as your new secretary.

"So, you've whittled it down to three?" she asks, looking over the applications and resumes you've put on the desk. "First up is Anne. A very good, consistent, work history and has plenty of years left in her. She could be another Lorraine - working for you until she retires. Or you retire first, which is more likely. No surprises with this one - solid. She'd be my pick."

"Kelly, not too dissimilar from Anne. Again, a consistent work history. The only red flag that I can see is the circumstances of her departure from her last job. Very mysterious, and she hasn't put down any references from there, which one might expect. But we can't assume it was any fault of her own. After all, there are many toxic workplaces out there."

"Finally, there's Gemma," she says, looking over the falsified resume, completely oblivious to its litany of lies. "A bit of a surprise. Good qualifications, but not much experience, given her age. Also, I can't see a young girl like that remaining in the job for too long. She won't want to be a secretary for the rest of her life, and it's good to have some continuity like you did with Lorraine. That being said, she's the most tech-savvy of the lot, and with all the technology these days she could be a lot more useful. After all, the IT department isn't known for their prompt responses."

Sarah puts away the applications and looks at you earnestly.

"So, who will it be?"
