Wait for the dreaded holiday.

You called up Steve and organize the trip for a fortnight's time. He happily accepts and says that Gemma is free to come too. You feign delight and tell him that you'll be in touch soon. In the week leading up to the holiday, Gemma proposes that you all go up together in one car, and without any good reason to rebut her suggestion, you pick Steven and Gemma up from their house on the Friday after work.
