Hero: Amelia "Blink" Mercier

Better known as Amy to your friends, few of which you have. Ever since your mutations started to show following the accident you have kept mostly to yourself. Growing up you struggled to control your super speed powers through your teen years. Only now as you near the end of them are you somewhat in control. Still, you often struggle to remain as such and find even the smallest use of them often going wrong landing you in... uniquely embarrassing and sally sexual situations.

Still as you get on up out of bed, your long athletic body stretching as your dark skin glistens in the morning sun, pausing only to pull on a sports bra with some panties, you cannot help feeling that today is the day. It is time to finally shine as the hero Blink, fastest woman in Dream City. Once your supple breasts are well supported you move to pull on some dark leggings and one of your more athletic purple shirts. Next all you need are socks, running shoes, your phone and headphones. Tying back your hair you slap on your headphones and head out into the city.

With your headphones on few people bother you, let alone pay much attention period, which is just the way you like it. Too much attention gives you social anxiety and the last thing you need is someone trying to talk to you... or worse. As you walk your neighbourhood, eyes glued for any sign of trouble and music playing lightly from your phone you are bouncing on the balls of your feet just waiting for something to happen. Anything for you to jump in and save the day. Nothing happens and you find yourself quickly drifting to your usual haunt at the local bakery. Your stomach grumbles as you remember you are yet to eat breakfast.

You are rather tall and need to duck in under the sign as you step into the shop. Waiting in line for the Danish you always buy here, your eyes are drawn to a news report on the TV in the corner. The sound is muted but as you read the headline your jaw drops open. 'Bank Heist in Progress. Multiple Armed, Masked, Women. Multiple Hostages.' It does not say where it is but looking at the footage you realise you recognise that bank. It’s on the other side of the city, but you are a speedster, distance like that is seconds for you.

Dashing out of line and the bakery you almost break into a super speed sprint right there and then but hold yourself back till you can duck into an alley. There you take a moment as you reach into your pocket and pull out a small, white cloth mask you fashioned, pulling it over your eyes and around your head before nodding to yourself. Are you really about to do this? You ask yourself as you put away your headphones.

Fuck yes you are. You breathe in deeply and take off running. Purple energy surrounds you in a bubble, becoming a long streak behind you as silver lightning sparks off your body. Glancing down at your phone you keep an eye on both your location and where you are running. You are still ages away and if you want to be on the scene before another hero than you may need to step to it… but you do remember that when you use your powers too much or too hard things often go wrong. You bite your bottom lip, what should you do? Step it up and get there fast? Or play it safe and arrive a little late?
