Hermione Granger

Hermione was frustrated. Her best friend could not catch a break. Just last year, Harry saw Cedric die in front of him. He saw the rebirth of his parent's murderer.

After all that, he was shipped back to those loathsome Durselys. He did not catch a break there, oh no. He was attacked by Dementors while under guard, accused of underage magic, tried in front of the whole of Wizengmot, and after all that, tortured by their new defense professor.

She wanted to do something, anything, to help him, but she could see no way. Not when the adults were willing to ignore the problem. She was so mad at the adults that her usual authority-loving attitude had taken a backseat.

She was sitting in the 'Room of Requirements', waiting for Harry. He was running late due to his detention with the loathsome toad of a defense professor.

She wished that there was something the room could do to help her, but knew it was a lost hope. The reality they lived in was cruel, and unless the room could change reality, they were stuck with what life gave them.

Suddenly, as if hearing her thoughts, a table materialized in front of her. On top of that, there was an unassuming book. She took it, hoping that it might contain answers to her questions. She was upset when she realized that the book was empty. She turned the first page, thinking it may be a journal of some kind.

She was blown away with what she found. It was really the answer to everything.
