"Um, I guess my general opinion of hypnosis is that I think it's cool, I guess," Ann shrugged. "I dunno. I never really thought about it before. As for the second question, no, I haven't been hypnotized before."

"The reason I asked you these questions, Takamaki-san," said Kaito. "Is because I specialize in hypnotherapy, and I'll use that to help you deal with whatever issues you have."

"Oh," Ann perked up. "Cool!"

"Before we start," said Kaito. "Do you feel comfortable around me? The more comfortable you are the easier it is to have you in a trance."

"Yeah," said Ann. "I mean, you aren't Kamoshida, so I trust you."

"Perfect," said Kaito.

He lit a candle in his office and told Ann to focus on the flame, to let her mind and body become relaxed as the flame flickered and her induction began.
