Head down the passage

You all walk cautiously down the long cave passage, the flickering torch held by Nell providing the only light. Nell in front, then Adi, you, and Jon in back. Tiny rivulets of water run down the gently sloping cave floor. The temperature drops as you proceed. The air is damp with a slightly moldy smell. After several minutes of picking your way through the natural cave, you come across a branch in the tunnel. The left path looks quite narrow, only a foot and a half or so. You would have to go sideways in that direction. The right path is wider and slants downward.
