He wakes up with a woman at top of him
Elan woke up a few hours later, completely drenched, with a woman on top of him. Water was rushing out of his airways, making him cough. The woman quickly helped him stand up, hitting his back gently all the while helping him expel even more water.
"There, there, just let it all out."
After letting him get his bearings, his savior, who turned out to be a huntress who happened to see him drifting in the nearby river, asked him a number of questions. Like, who he was, where he was from, and how he ended up almost drowning. However, Elan was drawing a blank on most of them. He remembered his name and where he came from; he remembered setting out to find a cure for his damaged gate; and then something about a witch, but the details were foggy in his mind, although he did feel agitated when he recalled about her.
Discussing the situation further, it became clear that Elan was far away from home, as neither he nor Hawk had ever heard about the places the other was familiar with. This made him realize this witch must have, for whatever twisted reason, teleported him to some faraway land, possibly inside a river. Thankfully, Hawk, who was hunting nearby, had spotted him and pulled him out of the water. She even performed first aid, bringing him back from the brink of death. Elan was immensely indebted to her, but lost as he was, without any money and his clothes inexplicably replaced with rags, he was forced to rely on his savior's kindness once more.
