The Background Conquerer
What Happens Next for Moses?
He learns the truth
All this became confusing to Tzipporah but she and Aaron tried to defuse the situation with Tzipporah trying to convince Miriam that she was confused along with Aaron who kept claiming that she was either exhausted or ill but Miriam kept yelling to Moses that he was her and Aaron's brother and that he was born from their mother Yocheved. Moses was about to grab Miriam's arm to throw her down to the ground but Tzipporah prevented him and she looks at him as if asking to not hurt her. Moses relents and just decides to walk away with Tzipporah following
However, Miriam started singing a lullaby with Moses and Tzipporah stopping listening to it. Tzipporah knew that tune due to Moses having whistled it a few times during her days as his "prisoner". Moses was also shocked by this and looked back to see Miriam with tears in her eyes and smiling at him. Moses then ran back to the palace with Tzipporah racing back with him to his chambers while he sang in insistence that the palace is his home. However, Tzipporah was starting to doubt it and then remembered about having sneaked a peek under his wig and seeing that he did not look like the other Egyptians, she was starting to realize that he was a Hebrew but chose not to say anything as she can see conflict in Moses' mind.
Tzipporah: Come here.
Moses looks to her before came to her by the bed and she hugged him.
Tzipporah: Sleep now. It will calm you down.
They both fell asleep with Tzipporah hugging him closely until she woke up to see Moses flinch and moan in his sleep and before she can try to wake him, he jolts up awake and panting, startling her. He puts a hand on his face.
Tzipporah: What is it? What happened? Nightmare?
She then sees Moses look determined and he ran and grabbed a torch and she followed him to the chambers where the the Egyptian carvings were. She saw him looking around until they stop to where they find what Moses was looking for: A painting of Seti ordering his soldiers to throw the newborn Hebrew babies into the Nile, where they would either die by drowning or get eaten by crocodiles.
Tzipporah walked backwards into the shadows in shock while Moses dropped the torch and leaned against the wall in remorse and despair. Tzipporah watched as Seti appeared and put a hand on Moses' head while he also looked at his son with pity and sorrow.
Seti: The Hebrews grew too numerous. They might've risen against us.
Moses looked at Seti with pity and betrayal.
Moses: Father, tell me you didn't do this.
Seti: Moses, sometimes for the greater good... Sacrifices must be made.
Tzipporah could not believe what she had heard from the pharaoh.
Tzipporah: (in her thoughts) SACRIFCES?!!!
Moses put a hand on a carving of a baby and glared at Seti.
Moses: Sacrifices?
Seti then hugged his son.
Seti: Oh my son. They were only slaves.
Those words caused both Moses and Tzipporah to become shocked and and Moses backed away and he and Tzipporah both ran out of the chambers and back to his own.
After reaching Moses' chambers, he silently began to sob while Tzipporah hugged him and tried to relax him with little shushes. While she comforted him through the rest of the night, she decided that she will take him and leave Egypt with her the next day.
