He has something to get off his chest.

“By all means. Did you want to come in first?” Spencer offered.

“Here’s fine,” Tony replied. “This is only just going to take a moment and the mechanic should really be here any minute.”

Spencer nodded and stepped outside on the porch with Tony, closing the door behind him.

“As I’m guessing Darcie has told you, I’m guessing everything is you actually, I’ve had some non-performance issues downstairs ever since my surgery. It’s put an uncomfortable strain on our marriage. Darcie has always been a very sexual woman as you’ve no doubt found out. Darcie and I decided that she was free to have her needs met outside of the marriage seeing as I no longer could. Since coming home today, I haven’t seen Darcie this happy in quite some time. I want to thank you, Spencer, for what you’ve done for my wife and our marriage,” Tony held out his hand to shake as he continued, “Darcie wouldn’t say with who but if it was to be with anyone, I’m glad it’s with you, Spencer. She wanted to come and collect the car herself this morning but I made her promise to not contact you until I’d had a chance to speak to you first.”

Relieved at Tony’s comfort with the situation, and that Darcie had been completely honest with him, Spencer put out his hand and shook Tony’s hand in return.

“You’re a stronger man than most Tony,” Spencer told him.

“We get but one chance on this earth. I don’t want to live with regrets that I kept the person I love from enjoying her life to the fullest of human experiences. There’s just one thing that I would ask of you. I’d prefer the children not to know about this arrangement. The other parents be damned, bunch of gossiping witches, I’d tell them to mind their own damned business myself. But the children, I want to be left out of it.”

“Agreed,” said Spencer. “I’d do anything to save Amy from the slightest trouble, as you would with Kimberly.”

“Oh, and just not in the house when I’m around. I’m more than happy to spend some time in a motel. Room service and cable! You know I haven’t had a steak in years thanks to Darcie and my doctor. I had three in the last three nights.”

Spencer laughed, well aware of his doctor telling him he needs to eat better and exercise more.

A white service van with the local mechanic’s stickers on the side pulled into the driveway just then. Tony started to make his way to Darcie’s car before calling back to Spencer, “Just make her happy Spencer, make her happy.”

Heading back inside to leave Tony to deal with the mechanic and the car, Spencer went back to his office where he had left his cell phone. Picking it up, he saw he had a message from Darcie on it. Reading it, she asked how it went with Tony. Spencer replied that it had gone well and he was just fixing the car now. A couple of moments later the bubble appeared that meant Darcie was writing a message back to him. “Good. I’ve got something to show you then ;-) ”
