He got caught

All his excitement went away, he was stopped by the guards at the entry gates outside the city. they denied entry to him, as there is now permission or a country seal required for entry. He pleaded with them for entry. He enquired about the mage with them so at least he can deliver the package. But to his disappointment guards informed him that the mage was gone years ago during the war.

After this, he tried to sneak into the city but it was heavily guarded, the guard busted him sneaking into the city and he was sentenced to prison for the time of celebration. He was thrown into the empty prison cell, in the temporary prison, made in the basement somewhere. The place is full of dirt and smelly.

The whole day he pleaded to the guard to set him free, but instead, a bunch of guards beat him and took all his stuff and money for their fun. In the evening he was sitting in corner of the cell cursing himself and his luck.

He came to the city in the hope of finding a good opportunity and now he ended up in prison, he thought to himself. Even after all these events, he has saved the package he was carrying. After midnight when he saw there was no one around he took out the tiny box from his deep pockets. He inspected the box as it looked damaged, the seal that was there on the box is now broken. It probably got damaged while the guards were beating him.

"All because of this package", "Why I even agreed to do this delivery?" he cursed, "The mage is already gone", "What am I gonna do with this box now?" he thought.

"Let's see what's inside the box as the seal is already broken," he talked with himself.

As he opened the box he saw a stone with a red glow, it looked magical.

He was amazed by looking at it. He always had internal feelings since he got the box the first time, that there was something special inside.

When tried to touch the stone, but as he touched the stone, it glowed super bright.
