He finds a weakness!

Mike clicks around for a while, increasingly frustrated by the lack of easily Google-able information on monsters from beyond the realm of human imagination. Suddenly, though, he leans in.

(Spend hold: "What can hurt it?") On an obscure mythology and folklore website, he's found a photo of part of an old German tapestry - and in that tapestry, there's a strange, pallid, man-shaped creature. It's clearly menacing a young woman in one of those pointy medieval hats, but a knight is charging in to stop it, wielding a long sword. Mike's eyes fly over the website's text:

Some old European folk tales refer to a "mushroom man," also known as a mycenoid. It's not talked about very much, but the few times it does come up it's talked about as a creature that stalks the woods and attacks solitary travelers like the woman in this tapestry. Fortunately, she has a knight to come to her defense - it seems the mycenoid could still be cut by a sword easily enough.

"A sword," Mike mutters. That makes sense - if it's a mushroom...thing...it might be cuttable. He's about to pick up his phone to text the others when it buzzes. Lifting it, he glances at the message from Phuong. Then his eyes widen and he yelps. "Fuck!" Leaping to his feet, he starts for the door, then hesitates. They're all coming back here... Chewing his lip anxiously, he sits back down to wait.

Phuong is the first to arrive, panting. "We - we ran into the thing. It knew we were here," she gasps. "Where's...Daisy?"

"She's not back yet," Mike says, worried. "Did you - "

"I managed to lose it - in the shelves," Phuong wheezes. "Goddam...she should be back...!"

"What happened?!" Ali demands as she hurries in. "Where's Daisy?"

"I don't...know..." Phuong pants.
