He decides to take Allison up on her offer.

Chapter 2 – So it’s real, now what? (continued)

Jason spent a dedicated hour on his homework, resisting the temptation to chat more with Kate before she left to run errands. He needed to get as much done as possible if he was going to spare time for other activities later. He paused very briefly when he received a text message from Allison, and decided to answer right away.

:Allison: Did you get my messages?

:Jason: I did, and I’ve decided I can come in to work tomorrow for a few hours. Will that work?

He got back to his homework while awaiting her answer.

:Allison: Not today?

:Jason: I wouldn’t have a lot of time today, maybe an hour at most.

:Allison: I guess tomorrow will do. See you at 11?

:Jason: Sounds good, I’ll see you then.

So Jason continued working for the next few hours until he finally took a break to stretch, and refill his glass of water. When he sat back down, he turned on his phone and checked Skype again. He re-read his messages from Stephani, and considered a possible response.

:Jason: Hey don’t worry about it. We can talk about it later if you really want, I’m a bit busy right now.

It was a few minutes before he got her reply.

:Stephani: Okay, love you! Looking forward to chatting tonight. <3

He didn’t want to be distracted further, so he closed down Skype, but then hesitated just a moment before checking the app once more.

Her remorse was higher, and she evidently also felt beholden to him, perhaps feeling a need to right the wrongs she may have committed, and also felt some lust for him, unlike Christine. He still didn’t have a complete plan on how he was going to deal with it, but he was happy to see the remorse scores were both still going up, even with limited interactions.

Then he checked one more profile.
