Chapter 18 by SmallestStories SmallestStories

Don't ask why a dead guy eats please.

Have a nice meal.

And just like last dinner, you ate like it was your first meal in forever. It was so bad that you didn't even take the time to check what was in your plate that it already disappeared in the abyss of your stomach.

After that, you looked up at Aji, who was calmly eating, a little grin on her face as she was also looking at you. When you crossed eyes, she let out a soft giggle, before continuing to eat. That's when you saw that she had prepared fried vegetables and some chicken.

"The rest of the meat will be for this evening." Aji said between bites, answering a question you didn't know you had. "I don't have any decent income for now."

"Well, I guess this afternoon we will go... Do something about me being Gifted." You said, thinking about it while also letting an untold question linger in the air.

"You can ask when you don't know." Boldly replied Aji, making sure you knew that she understood what you were meaning. "And yes, there is something for you to do. You will have to find a Gifted and ask them to train you. From there, you will have to forge your path and find people to create a team, something required if you don't want to let yourself be killed."

You listened intently to her words, trying your best to remember them as much as you could. This would be quite the afternoon, even though you're already about halfway through it.

"So we can't waste our time then." You ended up telling Aji, while getting up and grabbing your plate, cutlery and glass (that you quickly drank down) and going to clean them up, a task surprisingly normal for the amount of surprises you had since you resurrected.

You had the time to clean your dishes thoroughly , to end up with nothing to do and to finally go to sit on the sofa that Aji didn't finish her meal, and you were starting to grow eager to go out.

After a while though, you heard a clinking sound as well as the noise of a chair moving, signaling that Aji had finally finished to eat, and was moving to clean her own dishes, letting you know that you wouldn't wait much longer before you could go.

This is still too much waiting...
