Where did you end up ? (OP routes)

Guardian Catcher Circle

There was a bright flash of light and you suddenly found yourself standing in an open courtyard. There are many people in hooded coats standing around you at a respectable distance. You glanced down and saw that you were standing in a summoning circle of some sort.

You also realized you have a body of a hulking blue-green orc and you were wearing nothing but a loincloth.

“Good job Ash, you caught a big one,” someone said.

You turned around to see an old man in white clothing. He was speaking to a young kid with black hair who were dressed like the other hooded people, except his hood was down.

The old man walked up to you and studied you curiously. “Hmmm… it seems to be an orc, though it has a strange color. You may have caught a rare variant, Ash.”

The kid looked happy. “Thank you professor! I knew I could do it!”

The kid called Ash came up to you and put his sweaty palm on your knee. “Hi there!” He said, “I’m Ash Gatcham. I’m your trainer. Let’s work together from now on, okay?”

Your memory had just consolidated with Zagat’s and you realized you had the full power and experience of one of the greatest ultima-orc that ever was. So you can’t help but feel a little miffed at this kid. Your trainer? The nerve! You felt an urge to crush him into soup with a simple gravity spell.

But after some consideration, you decided that it was perhaps wiser to go with the flow. You are a stranger in this world after all. You have no idea how things work around here.

“Okay Ash Gatcham,” you replied.

Ash’s jaw dropped. “Professor! Professor! My pokeguard just spoke!”

The old man stroked his beard, “How interesting. This must be a mythical level pokeguard.”

“Poke-wha?” You asked.

“Pokeguard,” the professor replied, “It’s short for pocket guardian.”

“Pocket-what-now?” You said, completely bewildered.

“This is awesome!” Ash said, “With this mythical pokeguard, I’m sure to be able to catch em all!”

“That’s the spirit Ash!” the professor said, “Now why don’t you…”

“Waaaaaaait!” Someone yelled.

The three of you turned around to see one of the hooded figures step forward from the crowd. The figure than lowered his hood to reveal a brown-haired, green-eyed youth. “I refuse to believe that Ash managed to catch a mythical pokeguard! It’s just a fluke,” he said.

The professor sighed. “Gary, this is not the time…”

“I challenge Ash to a guardian battle!” Gary declared.

“I accept, Gary!” Ash replied excitedly.

“Dude, what the fuck is going on?” You asked.

The professor chuckled. “Ah, the rivalry of youth,” he said.

Gary put his hand under his coat and retrieved something small, flat, and rectangular.

You squinted your eyes at what Gary was holding. “Is… is that a piece of paper?” You asked.

“That’s a card,” the professor replied, “Guardians who are summoned and caught can be sealed into a card and carried around in the trainer’s pocket, hence…”

“Hence pocket guardians,” you replied, “Got it.”

Gary made a show twirling around before throwing the card on the ground. “Dragon Turtle Ryu! I choose you!” He declared.

There was a flash of light and a turtle with a lizard like head, blue scales, and a green shell appeared on the ground in place of the card. The dragon turtle was rather big, about twice the size of a crocodile.

“Oh, I forgot that I haven’t named you yet,” Ash said to you.

“My name is Gus,” you said.

“I shall name you Mega Orc!” Said Ash.

“My name is Gus,” you replied.

“Mega Orc!”

“Gus!”

Ash pouted for a minute. “F-fine…” he said, “Then, Mythical Orc Gus! I choose you!!!” He shouted.

“Dude, I’m right here, you don’t have to yell,” you told Ash.

“B-but…”

“So this is a fight yeah?” You asked, “I just gotta beat that thing?”

“Errr… yes,” said Ash, “But first… Gus! Use defend!”

You rolled your eyes. Then you dashed up to Gary and his turtle, picked the croc-turtle up by its tail and sent it flying with hard kick.

The dragon turtle went spinning in its shell out of the courtyard and zipped away far into the horizon.

Gary could only stare in shock after his departed guardian.

“W-wow…” you heard Ash say, “Kick is super effective against water-type guardians. I got to remember that!”

“Bitch, kick is effective against everything…” you muttered under your breath.

Gary howled tearfully and ran to the professor. “Waaaah Grandpa! Look at what Ash did to myyyy guardian!”

“There, there, Gary,” the professor said, “I’m sure you’ll catch another guardian soon enough,”

“That’s his grandson?” You asked.

“Yep!” Ash said. He reached under his coat and pulled out what looked like a blank card. “Okay Gus, good job. Let’s get you into your card.”

Ash extended the card towards you and declared, “Gus! Return!”

You felt a small **** tugging at you from the card. But for someone as powerful as you, it was barely noticeable.

“Nah, I’m not getting in that thing,” you said.

“B-but…” Ash said, “You have to, you’re my pokeguard.”

“And I’ll be poke-your-goddamn-eyes-out if you try using that card on me again.”

Ash looked like he was going to cry.

“Ash,” the professor said, “It would seem that regular sealing cards don’t work on mythical level guardians. You’ll just have to get used to having him around. It’s just like having a pet.”

“Who the fuck are you calling a pet, old man!?” You growled.

“Haha, this guardian has spirit,” the professor said. He turned to the rest of the hooded people. “Class dismissed. Please remember to care for your guardians and to practice giving them commands. Remember, a guardian is only as effective as his trainer, so don’t forget to work on yourselves.”

The group of people dispersed and the professor departed with his grandson, Gary, trailing and bawling behind him.

“Let’s go home Gus!” Ash said, “I can’t wait to show you to my family! Finally, I’m going to be a full fledged trainer!”

Do you go with Ash?
