Chapter 4 by brambank brambank

What should Leanne do?

Go somewhere else

Leanne thought it best if maybe she just left Abbie to whatever she was doing. It seemed a good idea not to cause problems for herself so early in the afternoon. So she turned away from the open door and continued onwards down the corridor. She was reading the names outside the rooms again, trying to choose one she liked the sound of, when she suddenly came face to face with a woman dressed in a nurse's outfit.

"Oh... Sorry." said Leanne, stepping aside. The nurse had a curious look on her face as she eyed Leanne up and down. It wasn't exactly the kind of Halloween outfit Leanne would choose to wear, so she assumed the woman actually worked there. "My name's Leanne. I'm here to... help the residents."

"I see..." responded the nurse thoughtfully. Leanne didn't like the way she was checking her out, something about the woman's stare made her think it wasn't a professional review. She was older than Leanne, probably in her 40's, with long, dark hair tied up into a sensible ponytail. "I'm Rachel," she said eventually after an uncomfortably long silence while the two weighed each other up. "You look like you enjoy... helping the residents." There was an intonation in her voice Leanne took offence to. What was the nurse suggesting? Leanne had deliberately dressed comparatively conservative today.

"Erm... That's why I'm here," replied Leanne with a smile, trying to hide her concern.

"Why don't you come with me?" asked Rachel, her grin now very suspicious. "Then you can give the residents some of your... help." The wink at the end just exasperated Leanne's worries. The nurse was up to something and she was going to try and get Leanne involved. "Well, shall we go find you someone to... assist?"

The nurse stood higher on her toes and stared quite openly down Leanne's cleavage. Was she actually interested in her like that? Maybe this was all in Leanne's imagination. She had to admit there was a deviousness to the nurse's grin that piqued her interest. Who knows, maybe it would be fun. However, she still had her reservations about the nurse. There was something just a little off about her behaviour.

Should Leanne trust the nurse?
