You back from the library door quietly. Whatever has done this has no problem subduing schoolgirls like you. It would probably be best to stay quiet and out of sight.

A curdling whistle comes from somewhere deep in the school, loud enough to drown out the thumping for a minute. Everything goes quiet, and then the thumping resumes.

It seems to be coming from the school science lab. You tiptoe in the clumsy suit past a row of lockers and gingerly push the door. Bangs of your hair are getting in your eyes.
