You hear her moans from inside the room as you approach. Part of you is concerned with just how easily the sounds she was making before may have carried through these tunnels.

You open the door and already feel the damp heat inside before you've stepped through the doorway. Within, Mira has changed further in the time you are away. Glistening in the light spilling in from the doorway, you take in her form.

It looks like her hair has grown longer; the dark strands now extend beyond her shoulder, whereas before you're pretty sure they didn't completely cover her neck. Her belly has grown substantially, and is swollen with what you suddenly understand is your child! The taut, sweaty skin moves subtly as your child stirs within her.

"You...you did this...to me," she manages as she brings up the shotgun that was laying out of view behind the storage box.

You attempt to speak; it's impossible as an explosive boom removes your lower face. As you slump against the wall and slide down it, you wonder how you could have done things differently.

Your one thought is that your child may yet survive. You take one last look at the furious naked woman who killed you, and hope it's covered in plenty of bone spikes just like daddy.
