Chapter 11
by Genericc616
How do you spend your first evening here?
Getting to know Gab better
You return to your room, and find that Gab had been correct and that on your return, not only did the palm reader allow you to unlock the room, but also your storage unit had spares of the clothing you had been given.
“With tops these tight, and shorts this short, may as well just be naked,” You comment, taking the colour mod and having a quick play at applying various colours to the outfits.
“You woulnd’t heat any complaints from me,” Gab replies with a grin
“I bet you wouldn’t,” You reply with a smile, wandering over to her, and taking a seat next to her. The two of you looking out of the large viewing screen, and watching the vast infinite void stretching out beyond.
“You know as isolating and constant reminders of my lack of freedom, it’s a pretty beautiful one,” Gab says with a smile.
“So what did you do before you got captured?” You ask, watching the twinkling of stars in the distance.
“Believe it or not, I was a entertainer,” Gab says with a smile,
“Really? Dancer or singer?” You ask turning to face your green companion.
“A bit of both really, feels like a lifetime ago,” Gab continues, smiling as a sense of nostalgia crept into her. The memories bittersweet, as they faded when she remembered where she was now.
“I’d love to hear you sing,” You say softly, resting your head on Gab’s strong shoulders.
“Well maybe if you give me a reason to,” Gab replies back with a half laugh, “So how about you, what were you doing before all this?” Gab continues.
“Wandered from place to place,” You reply with a small sigh
“So what were you running from?” Gab asks with a knowing smile on her face.
“What makes you so sure I’m on the run,” You ask giving Gab a smile that told her that she was right.
“Well your definitley smart, the way you out thought those girls in the arena, and how quickly you work stuff out, tell me that,” Gab begins, turning her gaze towards you. “You’re also very attractive, and move like nothing I’ve quite seen, but when I asked you what you did, you told me you just wandered,” Gab continues with a smile of her face, clearly enjoying being able to explain her deduction. “You don’t strike me as a criminal, least not a serious one, and your no poet so that just leaves girl on the run,” Gab finishes giving you a big grin.
“Alright pretty astute,” You admit with a smile shaking your head at being read so thoroughly.
“That and good girls don’t get grabbed,” Gab added with a smile.
“So how did you get grabbed?” You ask
“Got lured into a gang, entertained at a party of some big player celebrating a big score, They liked the look of me, invited me to join, the money was too good, so I joined up,” Gab says her smile faltering as she reflects on a decision she clearly regrets.
“What happened then?” You ask putting a hand on Gab’s thighs and rubbing her sympathetically.
“Got caught by a rival, and given a choice, I could be a ****, or be an example, obviously I chose to live, and here I am,” Gab says with a sorrowful sigh.
“We’ll get out of this,” You say confidently
“Everyone says that at first,” Gab says with another sigh
“Well I’m not everyone, and let just say during my wandering I made a talent of getting into and out of places,” You say with a smile. One that Gab found infectious enough to crack a smile of her own.
“Well there’s always the high stakes games I guess, maybe you’re smart enough to win, but risks are crazy,” Gab says.
“Oh yeah, you were telling me the games had a risk rewards system,” You reply, climbing further back on the comfy bed and sitting upright.
“So I covered the low/no risk, where you win decorative stuff, slightly nicer clothes and stuff like that,” Gab says, while you nod “Worst you might lose from those games are a small forfeit, like having your clothes **** into a horrible colour or having holodrama privileges limited,” Gab continues.
“Fairly mundane rewards for fairly mundane loses,” You reply.
“Next are the medium games, where you can win things like a personal terminal for watching anything from the holovid library, a few other small items most tend to use them to helm make their rooms feel more like home, oh and some much nicer clothes,” Gab begins
“Could I get a smart fibre dress?” You ask, considering the useful tools you could slowly amass using these rewards.
“I guess you could, most tend to have trophy outfits that set them above the rest of us,” Gab continues. “You can also win a couple weeks off from the games, but thats pretty rare,” Gab continues.
“What sort of things do you risk?” You ask, your mind trying to map out what things you might ask for.
“Well a sometimes its something simple like the winner gets to take advantage of you, fuck you infront of the viewers, othertimes its depriving you of a luxury for a week.” Gab explains taking a moment to recall the various things she’s seen people win and lose.
“Interesting, I might be able to put together some useful tools if I can ask for the right things,” You comment.
“Lastly you have the high risk games,” Gab says pausing for a moment. “They’re usually very difficult and unfair games, with unique and sometimes cruel forfeits,” Gab continues
“What sort of forfeits?” You ask almost hesitantly
“Body altering surgery, being **** to take dangerous gene mods, being turned into a sex ****, spending a couple of years as a breeding ****, a lot things that often leave the losers unrecognisable.” Gab says shaking her head “It always starts small, the first few losses you might just get a small mod, or a tattoo, being **** to service a few guests, but it escalates the more you lose, until,” Gab continues, cutting her self off and shaking her head.
“That sounds unbelievably horrible,” You say reaching out and stroking Gab on her shoulder.
“Yeah, seen far to many good people, get dragged down trying to win big, shrugging off the first few losses, and doubling down,” Gab says with a heavy sigh.
“I’m sorry,” You say softly.
“It’s ok, you want to get out, just like all of us really,” Gab says with a small smile.
“So in theory you can win a ticket out of here, if you take the high risk games, but they’re essentially rigged against you,” You muse thinking on it for a moment.
“Yeah, and even then you need to win three,” Gab replies.
“What do you get reward wise for just winning a high risk?” You ask
“You can ask The duchess for a favour, as long as it’s not too big, the most common I’ve heard is people asking to have the changes made to them undone, or sending a message back home, some use it to exchange their room for a regular penthouse suite,” Gab continues.
“Interesting,” You reply, your mind racing at the possibilities of this.
“You’re not thinking of trying to win your freedom, are you?” Gab asks sounding almost worried.
“Not quite, I’m guessing the closer you get the more they try and stop it from happening, and even then I wouldn’t trust them somehow screwing you once you’re out,” You say in a level tone.
“You reckon?” Gab asks
“Well if even one person gets free, they could end up going to the core world authorities. The Duchess might have powerful allies that help her hide this place, she couldn’t be defended if the core worlds got up in arms about it,” You reply calmly.
“You’re right,” Gab says dejectedly
“That said, if you’re as smart and talented as me, then you might be able to figure out an alternative,” You say confidently, flashing Gab your best confident grin.
“Really?” Gab asks, a sense of hope returning to her.
“I reckon so, I’ll need time to plan, tools to work with, but most importantly I’ll need information about this place, which means getting stuff I can trade for said information,” You reply.
“Sounds promising,” Gab says nodding along, her own mind working now.
“It’s got to be the best bet, and besides if I won my freedom, then I’d have to leave you here,” You say in a seductive manner. Gab blushing slighty, the red standing out much more prominently against her green skin.
“Val.... I don’t know what to say,” Gab says softly smiling at you warmly.
“They don’t say anything, just let me share your bed tonight and I’m sure we can find a way for you to express yourself,” You say flashing Gab a devious grin.
Gab grins back and slowly crawls towards you, a big smile on her face. “I think I can manage that,”
How does Gab express her gratitude?
