Get some breakfast

I got to the kitchen and saw that it was huge, how didn't i notice this? it had a bunch of cupboards and lots of kitchen stuff - that didn't really mattered, i went to the most important element of a kitchen, the fridge - to my surprise, it had a lot of food in it, even though we just moved out and mom didn't go to the store to buy more food.

Oh yes, mom i thought, i needed to make her breakfast too because i felt guilty for what had happened last night - i put a lot of thought over what i was going to cook and decided to go with some scrambled eggs with bacon and two toasts. In the middle of cooking i hear her door open and her slow footsteps as she was walking to the kitchen.

"Good morning honey..." she greeted me and then yawned "Mmm... what are you cooking?" She asked with a interested expression.

"I'm making you some scrambled eggs with bacon, your favorites" i replied back.

"For me?? Ohh you didn't have to... thank you honey"

It felt good to be helpful around the house, i always tried doing the house chores but i got distracted in highschool and stopped doing them - now i think is a good time to start doing them again.

She entered the kitchen, kissed my head, got some cups, prepared her coffee and set the table, after that she waited patiently in her seat for my eggs. We talked a little bit while i was making my breakfast and when i got to seat she said

"Do you want to go out and explore the city? I've heard there's a lot of things to do here so maybe you can keep yourself busy while we wait for school to start"

Oh shit, school... Wait, school... haven't i already graduated? i was confused and didn't know what she meant so i asked her

"No need to worry about that right now, i can only tell you that is a special school with special education" she said.

"Wait, a special school... do i have a mental disability or what?"

She chuckled a bit before saying "Oh no, is just like highschool but designed to act like college... you'll see" - i was still confused but didn't want to keep asking because school is the least of my worries right now.

"So are you going to explore the city?" she asked and after taking a sip of her coffee she continued "you could take your sister with you and have fun, i have to stay for the various companies that have to install services"

I thought about it for a bit before answering, "I'll see if she wants to but i'm sure she will ignore me, if that's the case i will still go alone just to see what's it like"

"Oh don't say that, Annie won't ignore, maybe she is just busy but you two need to spend time together" she said with a worried tone.

"I don't know what got to her for the last 10 years but we don't get along, like... at all... i don't know, i will ask her anyway" - i stepped off from the table and went upstairs to Annie's room.

While i was going up the staircase i thought Mom really wants that Annie and i spend time together and bond... i can tell, but that's never going to happen

I knocked on Annie's door.... no answer, i knocked again, i heard some sounds coming from the room probably she just wake up so maybe i need to knock again - and so i did but this time Annie responded with an angry grunt and an annoyed tone "What do you want?!" she screamed.

I tried to tell her but i wasn't loud enough so i decided to enter her room - clearly she didn't like this because she threw a pillow at me and screamed "WHAT ARE YOU DOING, I TOLD YOU TO NEVER ENTER MY ROOM WITHOUT MY PERMISSION" i was shocked, i couldn't react but just two seconds later she screamed again

"GET OUT OF MY ROOM, I'M HALF NAKED!!" - alright fuck her, not like that, she is going to be a bitch so i decided to wait for 30 minutes until she got out of her room, then i asked

"So mom said that maybe we should go out to explore the city and visit popular places to familiarize with the city" i said that in the most monotonous tone, she quickly responded with a "No". "But why" i asked, she replied "I don't feel like going out, even less with a prick like you"

That's when mom steps in and tells Annie "I think it would be pretty good for you two to go out and explore, you don't want to stay bored in here and if you don't go with your little brother he could get in problems" - i followed mom's comment with a simple "Come on Annie"

And then the bitch went off, she got really triggered by the fact that i called her Annie and screamed at me "I TOLD YOU TO NEVER CALL ME ANNIE... and i rather you go out alone and get mugged or killed that me going out with YOU" she quickly stepped off and went to her room.

I could see mom getting really teary and i just shrugged at her saying "See, she hates my guts" after saying that mom started crying and that's when i knew i had to comfort her, i hugged her and told her "It's fine mom, i will be fine, it's been like this for years now so i can take care of my own" she stared at me with her teary eyes and gave me a kiss in the forehead.

I went to my room to get some stuff and prepared to go out, before stepping out my mom stopped me and told me "Take care, don't get in trouble..." and after a long silence she said "I love you so much, don't get yourself killed"

I smiled at her and told her "I love you too, good luck with the cable guys" and stepped out of the house - finally i can explore everything i want and meet new people, i thought to myself i need this, so where do i go first?
