Fuu bests the Chieftain

Fuu had struck the Chieftain several times without the massive beast landing a single blow. Fuu had to keep it that way as even a glancing blow from the massive weapon would likely be the end for her. Fuu had only managed glancing blows herself, outside her initial blow augmented with divine power.

Fuu couldn’t risk calling upon her power unnecessarily, seeking a true opening to finish the fight. As Becky was taken down and the Gnolls scattered, both combatants were distracted. Luckily for Fuu, she recovered first.

A risky thrust with the bladed staff slid between the ribs of the great Gnoll and pierced the beast’s heart. Fuu saw the eldritch runes inked and embedded in the Chieftains hide so she didn’t hesitate. She pushed her divine blessing into the monster, forcing the runes to glow with golden light as the beast gurled and died.

Fuu stumbled back, panting from the physical and mental exertion washing over her as the Chieftain died. Fuu didn’t get a chance to catch her breath as more Gnolls charged her.

Fuu doubted such vile creatures were acting out of revenge for their leader. They just wanted to beat her and laugh at her misery. Fuu wouldn’t let that happen.
