Free experience

"I would like to have a free experience with you." Josh said.

Shen looked mildly interested. "Oh, good. A customer with half a brain. Well, the free experience means it's on you to set up your own fantasy." As the peacock spoke, Josh could feel an odd sensation, like he was rising out of his body. "So you'll arrange things..." Was all he could hear before Shen's voice got too faint.

He found himself looking down from a great height, the peacock the only spot of colour on an otherwise dull grey plane. A cluster of options for customization filled the edges of his view: options to set up the terrain, from mountain valleys to flowery clearings, including pregen buildings (maybe he'd like a small manor house? Or a cannon factory? Or... was that a space station?); options to tinker with Shen's personality (insane tyrant to feminine slut and everything in between); options to establish the history prior to the scenario; and, of course, a reminder that everything established here could be changed on a moment's notice after the scenario's start via quick voice commands.

All that was left to do was for Josh to work out what scenario he wanted with Shen and then tell the VR world to create it for him...
