Following Marigold to her room.

The three guys were still in shock when they realized that the sound of Marigold's footsteps had stopped. They froze in place-- had she figured out that they were there? Was she watching them, right now, just like they had been watching her only moments ago? Slowly, Jakey raised his eyes upward, to the next level of the stairwell. There was no one there watching them, thankfully.

That didn't mean that Marigold was moving, though. It was Jakey, the boldest, who was brave enough to edge forward. He climbed two stairs, only two. It was barely enough to give him a good angle to see what the BB Brigadier was don't. She was stopped in the doorway, clearly getting ready to enter the hallway. It looked as though she was mentally preparing herself to push forward.

Jakey gestured for the others to come forward, and the three moved up the stairs slowly and silently.

Marigold opened the door and entered the hallway. Jakey knew what that meant-- these were the hotel rooms. Clearly her own rooms were nearby. That was an opportunity that Jakey was unwilling to pass up.

"C'mon!" he hissed to his friends.
