First game, college students

Alex pulled out the rules leaflet from the box as the rest of the gang made themselves comfortable. They were in the dormitory of Alex, Erik Cassie and Rebecca, with Miguel and Violet coming over from their place.

"So, from what I've read, you draw a challenge card and read it out. Then you spin the bottle to choose who gets to fill an empty spot in the text of that challenge card. Then when that's done, the targets who have been chosen gets a boon card which they can use to interrupt or... win the game I guess. Oh, and if the Challenge Card Drawer of the turn didn't get a Boon card from being selected, he also gets a Boon card for free," Alex said, glancing up around the table to see if anyone was looking lost.

"Seems like a drinking game that doesn't care too much about winning," Rebecca shrugged. She was a tiny redhead wearing a black leather jacket and green shorts. She loved rock and going to concerts, but she hadn't done any tattoos and was studying medicine to become a doctor.

"Do we have to drink to play this game? I haven't bought any ****..." Erik muttered, looking unsure of himself. He was a very introverted dark skinned nerd studying STEM to become a scientist. Or an engineer, he would say he hadn't decided yet and he still had time to alter his courses. Still, even if he was very smart, his indecisiveness was going to get him one day.

"How long do you have to play it, anyway?" Miguel asked. He was the more extroverted man in the room and liked to put on a bad boy demeanor. Still, even if he had gotten college grants for being good at sports, he wasn't oblivious and he was studying B&A. If you were to ask the group, Miguel was probably the one most likely to get very rich in the end.

"Oh," Alex said as got back to the leaflet. "Once everyone around the table has drawn a challenge card, everyone gets to announce if they want the game to continue for another round, or if they want to pause it for a time of their choosing. Then you spin the bottle and the winner of that spin gets their choice in if the game continues or not."

"That's not too bad," Cassie said as she was inspecting the exotic glass bottle. She was the biggest of the three girls in the room, often went by the nickname couch potato, Cato or just potato for her love of lying around in loungewear and streaming shows in the common room. She loved talking to people and she was studying to become a teacher, but she was a gentle flower and preferred talking about weird science fiction or philosophical topics. How she felt or getting into a relationship was not high on her list of priorities. "And I'm sure Becca has dozens of ciders hidden in her mattress.

"Only two dozen, beyond that they start poking through and make it hard to sleep," Rebecca said with a lazy smile and a roll of her eyes. "Did you bring anything to drink Vi?"

"Only a diet energy drink I'm afraid. I wasn't expecting a party on a school week Tuesday," Violet smirked. Violet was a health freak and studying medicine too. But where Rebecca had a goth Aesthetic, Violet went into more of a goth cyberpunk aesthetic. She also cosplayed and had quite a few followers on social media. Out of the gang Violet was the one most likely to be selling pictures on some semi-lewd online service, but the gang hadn't gone looking. She was also a pretty nerdy character and GM'd pretty great campaigns in both fantasy and sci-fi.

"Well, I think the best way to learn this game is just to start playing. Mind spinning the bottle to see who gets the first draw while I shuffle the decks?
