Chapter 12 by WishfulThinkingNA WishfulThinkingNA

What now?

Find some new clothes, then test your new form

As you lay in the cool grass, you realize you still aren't wearing any clothes. You clamber to your feet awkwardly, still unused to your slender feet and your light weight. Walking around in this new form sometimes feels like you're floating. You walk over to the still form of the imp bleeding in the grass and swipe away a small purse hanging from his side. A few gold coins shimmer in the sunlight. Not payment enough for what you did to me. Glancing over at your pile of discarded armors and clothing, you realize none of them really will fit you anymore. Maybe your underclothes if you're lucky. You decide to search the cabin, there might be something better inside.

You walk back into the building, your feet pounding on the cold stone as you search from room to room. You find various odd trinkets left behind in the sorcerers rapid escape, but find very little in the way of clothing. As you walk you can't help but notice the odd feeling of the orbs on your chest being somewhat out of sync with your body. It's a little strange, although a bit exciting as well. Eventually you stumble upon an old dressing table that doesn't seem to fit the rest of the building. It is made of dark oak wood with what looks to be golden swirling patterns dancing along the wood. You open a drawer and find several outfits that look to be made for someone of the royal class. _Pretty but impractical, _you think as you hold up a massive blue dress that looks like it was designed to **** you to ****. I may look like a woman but I'm sure as hell not going to dress like one. You pull out a plain white undershirt that looks to be a good size for you and a pair of loose black trousers. You fail to find a belt to tighten them but fasten a knot with a piece of rope. Looking further, you find a drawer with a few pairs of shoes in them. Most of them look like they were made for royalty, heels rising up in painful arches, but a pair of soft leather sandals catch your eye. You pull them out and to your surprise fit almost perfectly. You smile inwardly at your small bit of luck. You are rapidly brought back to reality with your next though.

That fight was too dangerous, I have no idea how strong I am or what strength I lost in that transformation. Lord only knows what might have happened earlier if I hadn't surprised that imp. You decide it's in your best interest to test yourself to see what type of punishment your body can take. Your old body was very strong. You were able to lift very heavy objects and could fight for hours on end without growing weary. You imagine your tiny frame won't be able to do those things anymore.

The dresser in front of you seems to be pretty heavy. You walk up close and wrap your small fingers under the edges of one side and try to lift. You pull with all your might and feel just a little give until you give up. You picked it up maybe a couple inches off the ground on one side. Not a promising result. Maybe something easier. You wander between rooms for a moment until your eyes settle on a dull two handed sword laying on a weapons rack by the fireplace. You place your hands on the hilt and lift. You lift it fairly easily, but the weight feels very awkward in your hands. You try to swing the sword and feel the weight of the weapon drag your body along with it. You would have no control using a weapon like this you quickly realize. You sigh in defeat, realizing just how weak you are. At least I'm super light now, maybe I can be a bit stealthier. You test your movement on the cold floor and notice how easy it is to make very little noise. You don't have to control how hard you step on the ground, you barely weight enough to make any noise if you were trying. Useful.

Next, you test your stamina. Walking outside, you feel invigorated by the sunlight. You begin to run across the field and back, cold droplets of morning dew cooling your body as they spring from the grass. You run for about an hour, enough to work up a sweat. At no point do you start to feel tired, it seems like your stamina transferred over and because of how much smaller you are now, you're carrying around a lot less weight. You can't help but be annoyed by the two miniature weights on your chest bobbing up and down in front of you as you run though. At least they aren't too big. Probably even a little below average. Satisfied for now with your testing, you move on to more pressing matters. How the hell are you going to get your body back?

What's your next step?
