Finally, some sort of plan

Back home, Spencer phone began to ring. He headed to the bedroom, before answering "Hello?"

"Hey." Evelyn said.

"So, uhh, this about our upcoming date?"

"You sound a little nervous." Evelyn chuckled.

"Well, I haven't had much time to think about it."

"I didn't take you for the kind of guy with a plan."

"A little late for that, I supposed. How about we go out somewhere?"

"Wow. You really don't have a plan."

"Uhh, well, you can't beat a classic, right?"

"Sure, but I do have all of Sunday free you know?"

"Uhh, I didn't actually. Do you have any ideas?"

"How do you feel about bit of a walk. You seem like the sporty type?"

"What about kayaking? I've got a lake right in my back yard."

"Hmmm... You know I haven't been kayaking since junior high, but there's a kayak rental place near the country club I work security at. Might be bit of an adventure for the both of us?"

"Sure, sounds great. So what time suits you?"

"How about you come around my place at one?"

"Perfect."

"Alright, I'll see you then."

"See you."

Spencer hung up, feeling a little off-kilter. He'd hoped things would go a little smoother, but then again, it was the first date he'd organized in six years, and considering how sudden and impulsive the situation had become, he figured it could have gone a lot worse.
