Extra Notes:

Extra Notes 1: Dark Elf Body Language

Extensive research into dark elven communities across Awyrth have revealed many complex and significant cultural traits and practices still used today, specifically in their intricate use of subtle non verbal communication. Alongside their various dialects of spoken languages exists an extensive system of silent gestures and expressions, exerted through numerous means both overt and covert and used for manner sorts of purposes, such as passing on information, announcing intentions or ideas, or simply to attract attention. Some researchers believe that such a language had evolved from their cultural roots as Awyn's masters of intrigue, having undergone countless extensions throughout the history of their sub specie. The listings compiled below are some of the most commonly understood expressions, although they are by no means limited in scope and interpretation depending on each individual geopolitical origin.

Side Note: Many modern dark elves of today do not seem to mind if others can understand what these gestures mean. In fact, doing so only extends their willingness to interact with the individual and dark elf enthusiasts across the world have taken full advantage of this fact.

Hand Exclusive Gestures:

  • Loose fingers, rubbing tip of thumb on upper index knuckle, - "Okay. / Yes. / I understand." or simple acknowledgement
  • Loose fingers, rubbing tip of thumb on upper middle knuckle, - "Not okay. / No. / I do not understand." or simple denial
  • Loose fingers, middle and ring finger, pressed twice into palm below the thumb - "Come here." (multiple rapid pressing indicates urgency)
  • Loose fingers, middle and ring finger, pushed twice away from palm below the thumb (almost to open palm) - "Stay/Go away." (multiple rapid pushing indicates urgency)
  • Loose fingers, ring and pinky finger pressed together and pressed into palm, middle and index finger extended - "Danger." (If thumb rests below index and middle finger, this extends the message with "Hide." or "Escape.")
  • Loose fingers, all extended and pressed together - "Safe." (If thumb rests underneath index and middle finger, this extends the message with "Stay hidden." If thumb is extended away from the palm, this extends the message with "Safe to come out.")
  • Loose fingers, half fist facing downward, all fingers flexing in a scratching motion either suspended in air or on surface, - "Thank you."
  • Half fist facing upward, loose fingers, index finger pressed onto thumb tip, - "Pay attention."
  • Half fist facing downward, loose fingers, index finger pressed onto thumb tip, - "I want your attention."
  • Half fist facing downward, loose fingers, index finger fully extended, thumb tip pressed below upper index knuckle, - "You have my attention."
  • Index finger and middle finger press together, loose fingers, within vicinity of mouth, - "I hear/heard something interesting." (For speech)
  • Index finger and middle finger press together, loose fingers, below the ear near jaw, - "I hear/heard something interesting." (For other sounds or information)
  • Index finger and middle finger press together, loose fingers, within vicinity of outer corner of eye, close to temple - "I see/saw something interesting."

Body Exclusive Gestures:

  • Indicating facing or direction (sometimes in conjunction with other gestures prior to direction indication), tilt head slightly in opposite direction, reading from the top of the head, e.g. tilting top of head leftwards indicates right direction and vice versa, tilting top of head downwards indicates up direction and vice versa. Some hand gestures can substitute the left and right direction depending on which hand or body part is indicated by the speaker e.g. left or right hand, left or right eye, left or right ear.
  • Leaders always stand or sit in front of their subordinates during formal ceremony. Spaces to the immediate right and left are reserved for the individual's inner circle, but the one that stands (explicitly, not sitting) directly behind her is the most trusted. Most dark elves will never approach any other of their community from behind because of this understanding, unless the person is truly trusted by the individual. Humans, however, are allowed to do so due to their social standing above all elves.

Modern elves have created a series of their own extensions over the many years of living in the human world, perpetuated by many dark elves that participate in street slut culture. Many of them are exclusive to interacting with humans, influenced by various factors that involve their status and standing.

Sex Exclusive Gestures:

  • Loose fingers, partially extended middle, ring and pinky fingers, index and thumb pressed together in a classic human 'okay' gesture - "Want to fuck?" (Depending on placement, indicates type of sex act e.g. within vicinity of mouth means, "Blowjob.", within vicinity of the front of the groin means, "Pussy.", within vicinity of the back of the groin means, "Ass.", within vicinity of the center of the torso means, "Tits."
  • Loose fingers, all fingers pressed and shaped into a ring, thumb caressing between top and middle index knuckle, - "Handjob."
  • Both hands placed behind head, neck or back, - "Fuck/Use me however you want."
  • Loose fingers, index and middle finger rubbing front or back of either thigh, - "Like what you see?" or "Do you want me?"
  • Loose fingers, index and middle finger pressed together, tapping the tip of thumb, - "I want your cum."
  • Single quick lick of the tip of the middle finger, - "I like the taste of cum."
  • Rubbing the throat, belly or ass cheek with index and middle finger fully extended, - "I want to swallow / your creampie." (The number of fingers indicate volume. If ring finger is extended, this means "a lot". If all fingers are extended, this means "all".)
  • Tip of index finger or tip of tongue running either left or right along topside of bottom lip, - "Thank you." (Sexual appreciation)
  • Loose fingers, index and middle finger extended, fingers rounding in a circular motion, - "Gangbang." or "All at once." (Indicates to all participants present, including all humans and elves. For the elf alone with all human males present, only index finger is presented)
