"Hurry up Vicky. She's over there." Heather Raver called over to her friend Victoria Walker. Both 15 year-olds had managed to avoid most of the day's activities. Victoria had been given the assignment of covering the yearly field trip the BusyBear, the school newspaper, and Heather... well Heather volunteered herself to help Victoria.

Has they approached the news crew a familiar face turned to look at the newcomers and smiled in recognition. "Hi girls, how it going?" Sophia Ravers turned to look at the two teens.

"Great Aunt Sophia! We were wondering if we could tag along? You know... see how you work?" Heather said hopefully. Sophia raised an eyebrow, her interest piqued at the sudden curiosity of Heather for her work when she recognized Victoria's old-style reporter hat and the spiral notebook in her hand with the giant "BusyBear" logo and smiled. "I think I got perfect idea." turning to the cameraman "George! Let’s redo the introduction, this will kill it."

After a few minutes of practice Sophia and Victoria put on the giant headphones and microphones the reporters use and they started to roll the camera again. Victoria had such a huge smile on her face that Heather wondered if it might really reach her ears.

"Good Morning Azure Rock I am Sophia Ravers reporting for KAZR-NEWS" Sophia said, and even with the calm practice of a professional she couldn’t hide her smile has she watched Victoria. _If only she were a few years older _Sophia thought to herself.

"And I am Victoria Walker reporting for The BusyBear." Victoria continues, her bright eyes wide with excitement, not only by being in the news but being THE FACE of the news, at least for today. something she hadn't expected to happen until she at least started working at her parent’s newspaper.

"And today we are covering the Yearly School Field Trip of Azure Rock High School isn't that right Victoria?"

"That’s right Sophia and today we have lot of activities in this beautiful day here in Silver Lake."

They continued for a few minutes remaking on some of the activities lined up for the day, like the sports events, arts and craft, the drama club among others and especially on the special event held later in the day, the traditional baptism for the incoming Freshmen carried out by the outgoing Seniors.

Has they were winded down the introduction a ruckus at the pier caught their attention.

Has they looked over they saw a pair of figures run off to the forest while the rest of the group looked to be completely agitated mass of kids.

"Let's check it out" Sophia said to the girls, "Our first news of the day"

"Ashley's over there let's ask her" Heather said and while they walked over the girls got all the detail of what happened at the pier.

Brandon Cole felt uneasy watching Zack run after Chloe. He knew Zack from long ago, better said he knew of Zack. They weren't friends but their mothers had been since high school, both of them had been on the Cheerleader squad along Susan Rivera. And although his and Zack's parents had not been close like the Cole Family was with the Rivera Family, they had met a few times long ago.

Glancing over he saw his twin sister, Madison Cole, and her best friend Lisa Rivera, both were scowling at him, the fire in their eyes bore into him letting him know they completely disapproved of him going along with the taunts. Brandon lowered his head in shame and tried to smile weakly at his sister hoping she would forget it by the time they got home.

It was something that wasn't lost on Ashley Woodsen, who was standing next to Madison and Lisa, while she talked on the phone with Heather and Victoria. She watched how Brandon seem to regret what happened. She was mad about how Dylan and his gang were treating her old friend, Zack, but she didn't know what to do. She was a little scared and felt really alone out here, and while she was friendly with both Lisa and Madison, her brother was over there with Dylan. She wished the others in her circle of friends were here to keep her company, especial Logan and the guys. They would know what to do. Right?

"QUIET!!" Mr. Ward yelled finally starting to get the kids under control when Zack and Chloe came out of the forest. "You two get over here right NOW!" he pointed at Zack and Chloe.

"What the hell do you think you're doing running off by yourselves, You're both on detention tomorrow, you too Gavin! You two want to act like a pair of lovebirds you do it after school not here."

"But we're not-" Zack started to explain while Chloe blushed.

"Quiet Bishop! I don't want to hear it. Now get on those boats and don't give me any more trouble!"

"What seems to be the trouble here Mr. Ward." a soft voice interrupted Mr. Ward's tirade. Spinning around he came up against a microphone being pointed at him by Sophia Ravers flanked by Victoria with the camera crew behind them.

"These three decide to make a big ruckus so they could run off to the forest." Mr. Ward explained.

"That's not true!" Zack snapped back.

"Don't dig a bigger grave for yourself Bishop!" Mr. Ward pointed a finger at him.

“What will happen with them?” Sophia Ravers asked innocently.

"We will be talking to their parents tomorrow and I hope they learn the lesson on how to behave properly on these school trips and back in school."

"And this has nothing to do with the fact that all three of them were being bullied by the other students present here?" Victoria asked pointing her microphone at Mr. Ward.

"Wha- -how the he- I mean- how di-" Mr. Ward stammered, caught completely off guard by Victoria's question. "Who told you that?" He asked.

"A reporter never reveals the source of her information." Victoria said and looked at the unhappy trio and gave them a conspiratorial wink. Zack's eyes lit up at the pretty girl winking at him. His heart suddenly seemed to skip a beat, none of the other girls in school had ever seemed to notice him.

Sophia decided to press the issue "Will you also be talking to the students who bullied these three students and made that girl cry? Will you also be talking to their parents? What is the school’s policy on these types of behavior?"

Mr. Ward took a deep breath to compose himself. "You will have to ask those question to the School Principle Mr. Wessterhof or with the Vice Principle Mr. Hartburn." He tried to stonewall the reporter.

"So, they will have to decide IF any of these kids will have detention tomorrow? They will decide whether or not to speak with the parents and what punishment, IF at all, will be dealt."

"Yes." Mr. Ward said weakly looking at the camera out of the corner of his eyes.

"Thank you for clearing up this misunderstanding." Sophia said "We were informed that these kids were being bullied and were going to be punished just because they tried to avoid it. I am glad that is not the case."

She signaled to George to cut the video and then leaned into whisper "Mr. Ward, If I ever hear of any reprisal against my girls here or their friends over there" she nodded over to where the hapless trio stood, "it would be a shame to release this video of you siding with the bullies, are we clear?" Mr. Ward simply nodded in defeat.

Has the kids turned to away to get into the rowboats Bianca suddenly seemed to trip, stumble and fall screaming into the lake. She came up sputtering and cursing. "Oopps" Ashley whispered to Madison and Lisa. "She should be more careful and not trip over my oar."

The petite girl stood apart from the rest of the kids, trying to be invisible the whole time. While the kids sorted themselves out, she decided to avoid the loud group, she had enough of those types to last her a lifetime. She approached one of the boats and looked at the brown-haired boy that seemed to be the leader of this group.

"You got room for one more misfit?" she asked

"What?" asked the brown-haired boy. she was right he was the leader here.

"The boats are supposed to be crewed in pairs. You got room for a misfit like me?" she asked.

He looked at the others and they just shrugged. "You sure you want to join us? We're not exactly the popular crowd today. You might be better off going with one of the other groups before they see you with us."

"Yeah well... I've been down that road before and it didn't end well for me. Think I'll try a different tack this time around."

The brown-haired boy shrugged. "It's your funeral. hop in."

She climbed into the boat and sat next to the girl she had assumed, was the brown-haired boy's girlfriend, but now she wasn't so sure. "You're the new girl, right?" the other boy in the group asked the petite newcomer.

The petite girl nodded. "Sort of. I was born here but my family moved away after I finished **** garden. We just moved back here over the summer."

"Cool" the girl next to her said.

"By the way" the brown-haired boy said. "I'm Zack, Zack Bishop, he's Gavin Westher and she's Chloe McRose."

"Hi guys" the petite girl said has waved her hand. "I'm Meagan, Meagan Volland."
