It's more than they have any right to hope for: hatchets, matches, flare guns, thermal blankets, MREs, more survival knives, pH test kits, iodine, bandages, aspirin, rope: just about anything they could reasonably ask for is in there, including two satellite phones and radio distress beacons! Everyone is very excited and slap Simon on the back and hail him as their savior, or at least the man of the hour. Both of his GF give him a big kiss as he helps portion out the equipment, everyone receiving some kind of weapon at least: since even if the satellite phones work it will take the coast guard or the navy about three days to get to the SS Ragamuffin's last known position, so they still have to survive till then.

"How come neither of you knew about this?" Chuck asks the two crew-members with them.

"We DID," Shauna explains, "but we thought they were EMPTY. I guess the Captain was afraid some of the crew would steal the gear in there and sell it."

After a few minutes of disbursing gear and organizing teams to search for the things they required to survive the group was ready to split up and head further into the island. They had decided to go in four teams of four: one heading south west along the beach, one into the interior to the north, towards where they had seen what looked like the peak of an active shield volcano, and another into the interior to the west, while the fourth would stay with the boats and try to get the satellite phones working. Each team would consist of three of the recent graduates and one of the 'adults': Those going south-west being Simon, Kelly, Bella, and Melissa: due west Chuck, Ronny, Gordon and Shailene: north Jane, James, Wendy and Madoka: while Jessy, Hope, Jona and Shauna stayed with the boats to see if they could make the satellite phones work.
