Everyone else is up

"Morning Vicky," Ashley said as her friend came into the kitchen. She was sat at the kitchen table with Chloe, Brandon lounging on the sofa in the background, watching whatever on the TV.

"Morning!" Vicky chimed back cheerily. "Did Heather and the boys head out already?" She began searching the cupboards for a bowl, the cereal already helpfully out on the counter.

"Yeah," Ashley replied. "Think she wanted an early start. And what she wants, she gets." She laughed, while Chloe looked morose on the other side of the table. Without her two friends she felt intensely uncomfortable, having told Zack she'd be fine mainly because she felt it would be good for Gavin to do something. Maybe she could have asked to tag along.

"Weather looks good," Victoria noted, looking out the window. "What's the plan?"

"Morning all!" Kurt announced, entering the kitchen. Victoria shot him a nervous glance, while the rest looked at him with mixed levels of irritation at his cheery greeting.

"Morning Kurt," Ashley replied with none of the pleasantness she'd afforded Victoria. "What were you saying Vicky?"

"Oh, uh," Victoria said, Kurt's presence sending her mind spinning with confusion at her earlier response to him. "I asked if there's a plan for today."

Ashley shrugged, "not yet."

"How about..." Kurt began.

"How about a walk?" Victoria said quickly, cutting over him with her own suggestion. "The weather's great, we should enjoy that while we know it's good." Furthermore, she knew on a walk she could fix herself to Ashley, or Chloe, and lag behind so that Kurt couldn't affix himself to her. She could get her feelings straight on a walk.

"She's right about that," Brandon said, flicking the TV off and heading to join them at the table. "I woke up a little early, the weather sounded awful against the window."

"Sounds like it's settled then," pondered Ashley. "Any objections?"
