Even More Sparring!

Mavis starts the match before I make two of the four flame tigers run forward. I want to test how he'll react, and not overwhelm him too early. He draws his bow and I sense him cast a spell. His arrow gets engulfed in water. He lets it lose sending the arrow toward my first tiger. He shoots as the tiger's front paws leave the ground, making it harder for it to dodge. Before the arrow connects, it glows brightly. Three more water arrows appear from the light around it. They all hit my tiger on its side. It collapses to its side and disappears. He cast two spells on the arrow. He used water to counter the flames and created more arrows. I think with another smile before sending the two tigers next to me in. Andrew jumps back to dodge the tiger and draws another arrow. He fires another water arrow at the tiger but doesn't create more arrows. He either needs time and distance to create more arrows, or it uses too much mana. I think as the arrow hits the tiger. It stumbles backward, but the arrow doesn't kill it. Andrew draws another arrow as my other two tigers get to him. He engulfs it in water before jumping back again. His back presses against the wall as he draws his bow. My tigers surround him and slowly walk forward. He fires his arrow straight up above him. A magic circle appears in the air and glows blue. It suddenly starts raining down several arrows of water. They don't have much power, unable to pierce the ground. But they manage to **** my tigers back. The spell stops as Andrew falls to the ground panting. I Observe him and see he used up too much mana too. I disperse my flame tigers and run up to him. I cast Mana Fusion while helping him up.

"How do you feel now?" I ask him after sending him some mana.

"Better, thanks. That was intense, I didn't think your tigers would be so resilient to water. Normally Beasts of Flame would die after one arrow to the head." Andrew replies.

"Yeah, I didn't use Beasts of Flame. I used a spell I got from being a Devil. It lets me create and manipulate fire. I made it take the shape of fire, but it's still under my control. For example, I could've made a tiger tackle you before turning the flames into chains to bind you." I say causing him to smile.

"That's amazing, if you don't mind, could we try this again later? I do need work with hitting moving targets, especially fast ones like tigers." He asks causing me to nod. He thanks me before stepping back. Mavis gets in position and I ask Andrew to start us off. I Observe her while he counts down.

She has the highest level of them. I think before the match starts. She casts a spell causing her to sink into the ground. As she does the ground gets covered in a dark shadow. It looks like a massive tree or building just covered the sun. A tree huh, that gives me an idea. I think before casting Create Fire again. I make several trees of fire surround me, casting light around me. As I do, Mavis jumps out of the shadows on my right. I swing the back of my Katana at her. As soon as I connect, she turns to black smoke and disappears. Two more of her jump up behind me. I turn and swing at them. They too turn to smoke and disappear. I look around and realize my trees aren't stopping her or lighting anything up. I make them disperse and start looking around. I know I can cast Flame Kings Terrain which will tell me where she is, but that defeats the purpose of this match. Besides, she's doing good so far. She's testing me with these shadows, learning of my attack speed and reaction time. I think before attacking another shadow Mavis. As the smoke disperses an arm shoots out of the shadows beneath me. There's a dagger in the hand aiming for my stomach. I drop my weapons and grab her arm with both hands. I pull her up, causing the arm to turn to smoke. As the smoke disperses I see my weapons sink into the shadows. She lured me into dropping my weapons. She must've figured I'd do this after watching my match with Chase. She's observant. I think before taking out my Dark Weapon. I wonder if this is all she's capable of in a one-on-one. Her abilities would be great when paired with a defender. She can confuse her opponent with shadows and attack them while there busy with the defender. But without them, she's limited in her attacks. She doesn't seem to have many attack Spells or Skills. I think before raising my Katana. I pull it back and cast Anihilating Thrust. The shadows surrounding me disappear, surprising me since I thought only the ones in front of me would. I immediately see a large circular shadow moving across the ground. I cast Create Fire and surround the circle in a dome of flames. It stops as Mavis pops her head out of the shadow.

"You beat me!" She shouts out before I make the flames disperse. The rest of her emerges from the shadow. "How did you destroy the Shadow Field like that?" She asks as the others walk over to us.

"I used a spell designed to destroy other spells." I reply, not wanting to go into detail about the School of Annihilation.

"Alpha!" I hear a familiar wolf girl shout. I turn and see Luna and Innu running toward me. Asami, Marlo, and Irene are walking behind them.
