Ethics of the Five Major Kingdoms

The Eternal Empire is a confederation of five kingdoms (in no particular order): the Human Kingdom, the Elven Kingdom, the Dwarven Kingdom, the Gnomish Kingdom, and the Aasimar Kingdom. Below are the dominant ethical philosophies in each:

Human: Humans live short lives compared to the other four races and are generally concerned with fairness, although their philosophies can be as varied as night and day, partly due to their expansive nature: of the 21 Imperial provinces, six of them are human; although the other races are not entirely innocent of being expansive themselves. Their short life span can lead to less patience, which has led to several failed colonization attempts over the years due to poor management on governors' parts. It is due to this habitual incompetence that the system of Governorship and the system of Circuit Patrol emerged.

Elven: Of all the major five races, elves live the longest, living over half a millenium. This lifespan has allowed them to be equally expansive with the humans, also controlling six of the 21 Imperial provinces. Elves reach the age of legal rights at age 60, being able to drink and involve theirselves in politics. However, they are not considered fully mature until age 110 and it is nigh taboo to treat someone under such age as a full-fledged adult. Their long lifespan and unique menstrual biology leads the elves to be more reserved than the other races; however, they also discard with any ideas of superiority of the nobility over the common folk, and due to scandals in the royal family are the only race which views their royal line as disgraced.

Dwarven: The dwarves in their mountain keeps rule upon the earth itself; it is rare to see dwarves venture to the surface. Due to this they have a mere three of the 21 Imperial provinces. The most notable thing about their philosophy is that rare earth minerals such as gold, silver, diamond, and emerald is considered public property prior to being mined. Conspiracy to control or monopolize public property is punishable by ****.

Gnomish: The gnomes tend to be the most eccentric of the five major races, and are found both underground and aboveground. Aboveground they tend to be a bit more reserved, not giving in to some of their more eccentric tendencies. Belowground they feel the freedom to give into their eccentricities, not afraid to get into their mech suits. It is generally considered good advice to not make fun of a gnome for their height. They have four of the 21 Imperial provinces.

Aasimar: The aasimar consider themselves to be the most equitable of the five races, and this is partially true, albeit only partly. Where the dwarves are equal in regards to natural resources and the elves are (relatively) equal in regards to social classes, the aasimar are equal in regards to racial equality. Every race, be it goblin or orc, is considered to be of equal status with any other race under aasimar society. Where some races may believe themselves to be racially egalitarian, aasimar put that into motion with high-ranking nobility of various races. Rather unfortunately, this does not lead to the nobility being less pompous. Being the least expansionistic of the five major races, they have a mere two of the 21 Imperial provinces.
