Establish comms with, The Asteria

You focus on the task at hand, while ultimately you have no way of reaching The Asteria you still would like to try to establish communication with them. You reach over to the communication panel and begin to try to create a connection link with the ship, again.

Your ship is only outfitted with a primary antenna, only really meant to send and receive signals, ground to ground. However, it did have limited orbital communication abilities. So it’s no surprise that the ship is still unable, even to detect a signal from the sunken ship.

“Come on, idiot think,” you berate yourself.

You know that The Andromeda, hit something in orbit, maybe a communication relay was knocked off, the Arcs were meant to operate as communication satellites for the colony, after arrival. It’s a long shot, but it will have to work.

You punch in codes, looking for anything. Yet nothing comes up. The antenna seems stuck and is pointed the wrong way. And you cannot realign it.

“Shit” you groan, staring out into the icy wastes.

The limited antenna you have on your shuttle should be enough; however, it is stuck pointing the wrong way. So the signal just gets scrambled before it reaches you. You immediately knew what that meant you have to do, but you still didn’t like it.

You are going to have to adjust its direction, which now means going outside and manually doing it.

“Well looks like I’m going to do something remarkably stupid” you laugh.
