Epilogue Part 1

Mark Donovan stood at the alter, waiting for his beautiful fiancé to make her way down the aisle. Standing next to him was his other best friend Steven, his best man, as well as several other friends he wasn’t close to per se but were close enough. Standing across from them were the bride maids, which had been hard spots to fill considering how many of her former friends she had him freeze in time. They mainly consisted of Regina, an unfrozen Nadia Lawrence, and Sara, Steven's girlfriend.

“There would be no time stoping today,” Mark thought to himself. “Today would be perfect. Well, unless Katie wanted to, then he would do it.” Mark smiled at this; he knew he would have to do it. Plus, there was the surprise for Katie back home.

Suddenly, the music swelled, and everyone stood up. Katie entered, escorted by her tearful father, Charles. Katie dressed in a long flowing, white strapless wedding dress that showed off her shoulders, a white veil on her head. As the two made their way to the altar, Katie’s grin only grew.

“You look beautiful,” Mark whispered to her when she finally got to the altar.

“Thanks, so do you,” Katie replied.

Katie’s father, who was doing his best to ignore their conversation, simply nodded before going to take his seat.

“Dearly beloved, we are gathered here to unite the souls of two individuals—” the pastor began. He then when through the planed motions, with Mark and Katie having the biggest grins on their faces. The two happily exchanged their vows and kissed passionately when instructed to do so.everyone cheered as they did so, even Regina, who lost the wedding bet when they moved it to December. Mark felt it had been only appropriate, it was the one-year anniversary of when he got his powers.

10 Years Later

Overall, Chief of Police Mark Donovan was a fortunate man, having a distinguished career, a loving wife in the form of Katie Lawrence, star athlete and two-time Olympian gold medalist. He had a good relationship with his sister Regina Donovan, also an Olympian, and frequently made plans together. In addition to this, he had his first child along the way.

As the youngest chief of police in the department's history, Mark always seemed to be there or know where a crime was being committed. He always put himself on the line, yet never was he injured in the line of duty. No one knew his secret to success, and he was not telling, claiming he was just there when the time was right and that he was just doing his job.

Katie and Regina’s careers were just equally successful. As part of team USA, they bought a second house in Colorado Springs to be closer to the training facilities, even bringing part of their collection to the house there (Namely Tracy, Katy, and Kristen). Mark and Katie still collected frozen women, but nowhere near the rate of what they did in the first year of Mark getting his powers, maybe two to three a year, most of them in being kept at the Colorado Springs house.

When not training or competing in the Olympics, Katie was an author, writing an autobiography and several self-help books (although she omit the time freezing bits). She was several times over New York Times best-selling author and had signed several brand deals over the years.

Regina, on the other hand, really got into photography and art when not training and was a well-renowned artist in audition to star athlete. She was also well known for her realistic statues, none of which she ever sold, only leased. Paparazzi, who had a bounty to find out what she kept in a large suitcase that she carried around with her nationwide hounded her. Little did they know, it contained her frozen former best friend, Kelly Phillips.

Mark had been through the roof when Katie had told him she was pregnant, with his only fear being what would happen to her athletic career, remembering their old math teacher and coach, Justina Hall. Katie had assured she could get back into shape rather quickly and was frankly surprised this had not happened earlier. That announcement had been almost nine months ago, and the baby was due any day now.
