Entering the city

"Shit."

Paladin wouldn't like you cursing, but Paladin can shove it. Your situation clearly calls for cursing.

You've managed to stay hidden, and miraculously even got past the gates.

You slid under and then hung onto the bottom of one the of the carts, of which there's a near constant stream of going in and out of the city. Accompanied by what you can only assume to be either drow raiders or the most depraved of merchants, bringing goods and slaves into and out of whatever passes for drow civilization.

But you had to spend time, to look for an opportune moment, and that meant falling behind on eyepatch-drow and your group.

You sneak into an alley, and ponder whether or not to climb one of the buildings, to get a better vantage point, when a voice comes up from behind.

"Well I'll be! What do we have here?"

Behind you stands the ugliest dwarf you have ever seen. His wrinkly skin is entirely grey, and his eyes a stark white.

"Don't make me do this old man.", you threaten him, bringing forth your daggers. "Just be on your way. There's nothing here for you."

He grins a toothless grin at you, and holds both his fat, short index fingers to his temples. He looks ridiculous doing this.

"I said don't make me..."

You scream out in pain. It feels like termites are burrowing through your brain, eating and digging away. You fall to the ground, hitting your head on the cobblestone. The last thing you see are multiple pairs of heavy boots, running down the alley and in your direction.
