Enter the glowing room

You step past the door and its troublesome prick and enter a large chamber with vaulted ceilings. It is lit by a single glowing crystal of white, but the light takes on a golden quality as it bounces off of the many treasures. There are huge piles of gold, jewels, unimaginable riches, artifacts, suits of armor, and weapons of ornate design.

You pick up a handful of the golden coins and see that they are stamped with the face of a gnome king. There are statues of gnomes and humans and other beasts. A whole gallery of alabaster sculptures.

There is an entire area filled with jewelry of incredible design. Rings and necklaces and amulets, some of which glow with obvious magic. There are racks and rows of weapons, many of which appear to be of ancient design and masterwork construction. You also see suits of armor of various type and descriptions.

It could take you years to search and catalog everything in this treasure room, let alone haul it away, but you can't bear to leave empty-handed. You decide to focus on one area and take a single item that might help you in your quest. There are the statues, which might have some significance given their exquisite craftsmanship, there are the magical items of jewelry, there are the weapons, and there is the armor.

Before you decide your remind yourself of story your uncle told you long ago, of a greedy treasure hunter who discovered a large chamber, much like this. The greedy man filled his pockets with coins and gems and then begin putting on the jewelry and armor. Eventually, he placed a cursed ring or a bit of armor on his body and he found he could not take it off and wherever he went he encountered misfortune. He lost his friends and family and eventually disappeared into the woods.

"Cursed treasure is real," your uncle told you. Now you will take such warnings to heart. You still face the overwhelming decision of which sort of treasure interests you the most.
