Emily reads about the Tatakama

Mechanics

Emily is not getting a combat action in the first arc of her plot. By the time she meets up with the others again, they will be at the next level, or half of the way to it. Emily is supposed to have some knowledge of spirits through her powers. I'm supplementing this with lore through the tomes she has in the library. This is done as a series of investigation checks. For now, we'll give her access to bestiary entrees and the information therein if she is successful. DC will be equal to 12 + CR level of bestiary entry (I'm sure I'll rule something differently in the future.)

Narrative

Like many evenings, when study hall was over, she knew she would have time alone. She made her way to the library and turned on the lights. One of the Sisters would fetch her when she was required to be in her room, they knew she would be here, if not what she would be studying.

Her investigations had led her to a book. The book told of the land of spirits, it confirmed much of what of her parents had told her. It also contained information on the lands, the creatures, and the peoples that inhabited it. All of the books dealt with creatures of lust. More than anything else, lust seemed to govern that other realm

Much of the information was hidden, obscured behind strange rhymes and codes. Other information seemed to leap off the pages. She read about [a creature whose song calls](The Siren) people to do its will, [another ](Creeping Claw)seemed to be a sort of autonomous hand.

There was a strange entry about [fairies ](Panty Fairy)that stole panties. A creature known for pranks, but which was considered lucky to cultivate. It said that they could aid magicians, acting as familiars, and that they traded generously for panties. However, it was almost impossible for a magician who had one of these pets or companions could ever keep their underwear and most had to adjust with life without.

Some of the creatures seemed organized, similar. They fairy was not alone, there was a [plant creature](Child of the Gathering) that was somehow related. The information would be useful if she could figure out how she had called to the ghosts before, or, if she could find some way to that other realm.

It was frustrating, knowing their was something behind the curtain, but being unable to find a way to pull it back.

She finished making some notes for herself in her journal, then slipped the tomes back to their hiding place, and made her way back to the dorms.
