A school forms a community, especially in a town that isn't too big. Most people have known each other from middle school, if not grade school, so a new face stands out. At least to those with an interest in faces.

So it should not surprise us, even if it was a huge surprise to Sana, when the vice principal stopped her a short ways into the school.

"This skirt is too short for the rules, they must be no more than three inches above the knee. After school in detention in room... 326. Run along now."

Shocked, Sana stumbled to her homeroom, trying to understand how her skirt was too short. Meanwhile, Emely grinned to herself, knowing she'd have all day to figure out the new girl's deal, and how to keep her away from Emely's future hubbie.
