What to eat

Ethan mulls over dinner options.

Despite just bringing home his haul, he's uncertain on what he should eat. After only a brief few moments of consideration, his attention turns to Layla's pie.

The choice becomes easy from then.

Sitting at the table, he digs into it, and from the moment the first morsel touches his tongue he feels his knees shake. Delicious seems too small of a word for the decadent fork full of food in his mouth. Lots of things are delicious, but this... This! Ethan doesn't waste any time thinking up a better word, instead favoring just shoving more of the pie into his greedy mouth.

While Ethan wasn't sure how long a pie is 'supposed' to last, he couldn't imagine he was meant to eat it in one sitting. And yet he did. Rubbing his belly, groaning softly, Ethan stares at the empty pan. He's full, but not painfully so. With all the hustle of moving out here, he really hasn't eaten much in the past few days, and was overdue for a truly filling meal. Breathing deeply, Ethan thinks he should really thank Layla for the pie, and recalling what she said about returning the pan, he could do it sooner rather than later.

However...

Ethan considers the hour. While it was by no means late, the day was getting old, and it was the typical dinner window. Manners sort of frowned on showing up unannounced at dinner time. And Layla did say she would come for the pan in a day or two anyway.

Still, the choice is hard, and Ethan drums his full belly, considering what to do.
