This time the door spilled me out in an extremely vacant looking grey box of a room with no furniture. The only thing of note was another door on the opposite side of the wall.
Of course, I was immediately suspicious. Would the ceiling collapse? Or perhaps the walls would squish me.
But none of that was happening as I made me way through to the room and to the door.
And even more surprising was the fact that the door wasn’t even locked! Not keen of wasting any more time in here I boldly stepped through and entered a room that looked exactly the same.
...ok.
This time I wasted less time and quickly opened the next door only to found yet another identical room. And another one after that one.
I opened a seemingly endless array of never ending doors.
Once it became painfully obvious that this would be futile I tried going back again. I definitely cleared more doors on the way back but I was unable to return to the toybox. It was evident that going forward was the only way to go.
And so I did.
I wandered for hours, perhaps days even. Continuing the monotone cycle of opening door after door after door.
Finally, I collapsed from exhaustion as death’s sweet release freed me from this hell.
