Droy - Home?

Droy is speechless. It worked. It actually worked. Months ago, after Uklag had almost killed him for using the wrong words, he had sent a letter to Orstead through one of his old acquintances, asking if it would be possible for Estara to guide him back home if he gave them the location of Uklag. He guesses that his boss newfound publicity is the reason why they finally answered him.

He can go back home. To Zarima. Live a happy life on a farm, just one problem though. “You look stressed, Droy.” Celine says from the bed. Droy quickly folds the letter and lets it disappear in his vest. “Ah you know, just work. That and the fact that Zal slowly loses his mind.” The servant had pleaded with Droy to do something about the dirt. Droy didn’t see the problem, a bit of dust never hurt anyone.

“He shouldn’t be that upset. Whatever is my mistresses will is correct.” Celine says and tries to sit up. Droy stands up and helps the pregnant woman. “It’s almost here, isn’t it?” Droy asks. “Yes.” Celine touches her swollen stomach and nods smilingly. “My mistress’s gift. I hope it will grow up to their liking.”

Droy silently sighed. Yes, there was the problem; Celine would never come with him. That begged the next question; would he be willing to go without her? That one was harder. He once told Uklag that the nature of the child didn’t bother him. That hadn’t been a lie entirely, he really didn’t care much but to say that it didn’t irk him in the slightest would also be wrong.

There was also the chance of being culled by a Demonlord if he stayed. A rather unfavourable point on his mental list. The letter stated a need to answer within the next two weeks, which factually meant that he would have to send one today if it was supposed to get back on time.

The advantages of staying here? Freedom, Wealth, Equality. Disadvantages? Potential ****, tyrannical overlord, demon wives, constant danger from Estara.

The advantages of going home? Safety, Family, he could take a bit of Uklag’s stuff with him as well that would make him rich surely. Disadvantages? Inequality, although Zarima is an okay place to live even as a man and he loses Celine.

On paper the choice was pretty easy. If he really acquired a lot of wealth from selling Uklag’s stuff (and seeling out the warlock himself) he could easily find another wife but well. Love is a bit of a complicated thing. Celine’s hand grabs him by the shoulder. “Droy.” She says in a bit of panick. “It’s coming?” “What is?” The Albino, barely listening, asks, “The baby.”

“Oh. OH! I will get Catherine!” Droy runs, his head empty. This really was bad timing. Or was it the world sending him a massage?
