Catherine, fresh out of the library, had arrived in time and the birth had been as smooth as pressing a body out of you can be. “Do you need me for anything el-ha-haaaa-“She sneezes. “Excuse me. Else? Dusty here isn’t it?” Droy looks at the child and simply mumbles, “No, you can go if you want to.” “I will be back in the library then.”

Catherine leaves the couple behind. Celine lies in the bed her newborn in arm. The wrinkled thing is pretty ugly and it’s light brown skin leaves no doubt about the father but Droy doesn’t care. He sits down on the bed and carefully moves his hand towards the little boy. He grabs his index finger. “Hey Celine.” “What?” she asks and caresses the child’s cheek. “I have a very difficult decision to make. One that could change both of our lives forever and I don’t know if you would even agree with me but…I don’t know what to do to be honest. Not even what to say.”

Celine smiles at him. “When in doubt.” She says, “Stay with me. I know I always follow the mistress’ and they follow Master Uklag. I know it’s not a decision, it is actually the lack of one.” She again looks down on her child, “Sometimes though that is the correct choice, to entrust yourself to another person.”

Droy ponders about that for a few moments and finally sighs. “Okay.”

He sends back a denial of the proposition, even though this might not be the safe route, this is the route with Celine. Her he will trust, even if it means risking his life in the process.
