Doing Things Differently

Holly smiled to herself as she decided what she would like to try first. It was an enormous relief that she had seemingly found a great guy who not only wasn't going to **** her curse but actually wanted to turn it into a blessing for her. However, Jared was very much an exception to the rule. Holly had spent years learning about all the terrible things Masters had done to her relatives over the years and it had left her very wary around guys. On top of that, the few relationships she'd had so far had never gone well and there weren't many great options for potential boyfriends to choose from in her social circle. One simple wish could make everything so much easier for her. She considered her wording carefully, going through a few post it notes until she felt sure she had it right and there was no room for misinterpretation, then slid the pad across the desk to Jared.

"Wow Laney, I wasn't expecting this" he grinned "But I say go for it! The wording looks good to me. You ready? Remember, I can switch you back at any time if you want. You only have to ask"

"I'm good with this, go right ahead" Holly nodded encouragingly.

"Holly, from now on you are no longer attracted to men. You are only attracted to women. Not all women, just the ones you would naturally have been attracted to had you been born a lesbian. Furthermore, you will be able to tell which women are attracted to other women, and also which ones are specifically attracted to you, just by looking at them, even if they claim to be straight"

Holly breathed a sigh of relied as she felt the spell weaving it's magic. She knew instantly that her interest in men, which she had felt waning over the years anyway, was now gone, replaced with a far greater appreciation for her own gender. It looked like she had dealt with a curse she had been stressing about for years successfully already and now she had hopefully given herself a chance of a decent love life too. It hadn't been a bad day's work after all.

"Jared, I really need to do something for you too" Holly told her friend "You have no idea what you have done for me today"

"Ah, just buy me a drink Laney" he shrugged.

"Just one? I owe you about a thousand!"

"Well maybe we could head out to a bar now and see how we get on" Jared laughed "To toast your new found sexuality and very own personal genie. I also make a pretty good wing man"

"That would be nice" Holly admitted "Let's go!"

"Shall I bring the post it pad, just in case?" her junior colleague asked.

"It might be easier to do it by text" Holly stroked his arm affectionately as she spoke "Also, an important rule. Don't accept any of my wishes after I've had three or more cocktails, okay?"
