Chapter 7 by DragoTime DragoTime

What's next?

Disappointment

Amia opened the door fully, and walked through it, Mark following her. He found himself in a realm of fire and brimstone. All around him, he saw angels, who were torturing people in the most horrific ways. Mark eventually resolved to look straight ahead at Amia, trying to distract himself with her beauty. They eventually walked into a cave, where Mark saw a pool of lava, with two metal chains going down into it, and two voices screaming out from within the lava.

"Lady Amia!" Exclaimed the torturer, who immediately got on his knees before her. "Lord Achré is in the special zone, I believe."

"That's not why we're here," Amia told him, and indicated to Mark.

"Lord!" The torturer gasped. "To what do I I owe this immense honour!?"

"The Lord wishes to speak with these two damned souls," Amia replied. "Please raise them up."

"At once, Lady Amia!"

The torturer reached for the winch, and Mark watched as two metal cages were lifted out of the lava. In them, he saw two naked, male bodies, who, despite having been dipped in lava, seemed to bear no physical burns.

"Please! Have mercy!" Nelson begged.

"We're sorry!" Begged Francis.

"I keep telling you, you're here for eternity," The torturer told them. "So you'd better get used to it."

"Oh my God..." Mark said.

"Whuh....Mark?" Francis said, as he noticed him stood there.

"Well...at least that dork's here too..." Nelson said.

"INSOLENT MORTALS!" Shouted the torturer in a voice that sent chills down Mark's spine. "ON YOUR KNEES BEFORE THE LORD THY GOD!" The torturer then shot electricity from his hands to the two boys, and they screamed in agony as they were **** onto their knees in the cages.

"Nelson...Francis..." Mark said quietly. "What's happened to you?"

"It's horrible!" Nelson cried out. "They **** us non-stop!"

"How long have we been here?" Francis asked. "It feels like forever."

"Lord if this sight is disturbing you, would you like to leave?" Amia asked him.

"Yes..." Mark managed, almost in tears.

"Very well, follow me," Amia said. Mark followed her back to the elevator.

"Amia..." Mark said. "Could I please see Luna?"

"Luna?" Amia asked, thinking. "Oh, the girl in the Eternal Rewards Department. Yes, we can do that. I assume she was the one who initially welcomed you to Heaven?"

"Yes..." Mark replied, embarrassed.

"No need to be embarrassed Lord. Whatever you did with Luna, you were well within your rights to do so." Amia pressed a button on the elevator, and Mark felt it begin to go up.

In her small cottage in Heaven, the angel Luna was laid on her bed on her front, naked as the day she was born, her wings relaxed against her back. Her husband Erkan then walked in, wearing his angelic robes.

"You awake honey?" He asked in a quiet voice. Luna grunted a reply. "I'm heading to work. Enjoy your day off. Love you."

"Love you..." Said Luna faintly, half asleep. Erkan kissed her neck, and pulled the duvet over her, before he left for the day.

A few minutes later, Luna heard a knock on her front door.

"I'm sleeping!" She shouted.

"Good morning, Luna," said Amia from the other side of the door.

"Lady Amia!" Luna gasped. As fast as she could, Luna got out of bed, and ran to the door. She opened it, and got on her knees, bowing her head. "Lasy Amia! I deeply apologise! Had I realised it was you, I would have-"

"Save your grovelling Luna, I do hate grovelling," Amia said to her. "I've got someone here who wishes to speak with you."

Luna looked up briefly, but immediately bowed her head when she saw Mark's divine aura.

"Lord!" she exclaimed. "This is indeed an honour! I am not worthy of this!"

"Luna...don't you recognise me?" Asked Mark.

"You are the Lord my God!" Luna replied. "The one to whom I pledged my soul in eternal servitude! It is by your will that I have my luxurious life!"

"Luna..." Mark said.

"Luna, may we come in please?" Amia asked her. Of course, as Luna knew, when an archangel asks you to do something, it's not a question.

"Of course Lady Amia!" Luna replied. "May I please stand?"

"You may," Amia replied.

The lesser angel stood up, and walked back into her cottage, God and his chief archangel following behind her. Mark and Amia sat down on the sofa.

"Can I get you anything Lord, Lady Amia?" Luna asked. Mark could tell she was incredibly nervous.

"No thank you," Amia replied politely.

"Luna...do you seriously not recognise me?" Mark asked her.

"I'm sorry Lord, but I'm afraid I don't understand," Luna replied, bowing her head.

"Lord, Luna has pleasured quintillions of quintillions of quintillions of mortals in her time. She cannot possibly be expected to remember them all," Amia explained, before turning to Luna. "Luna, this God was only recently appointed. A few weeks ago, he died, and you welcomed him to Heaven."

Luna took a good look at Mark.

"Oh....I remember you now...from the bus explosion, right?" Luna realised, and Mark nodded. Luna then got on her hands and knees. "I'm so sorry Lord! Please forgive me!"

"For what?" Mark asked.

"For whatever I did to displease you!" Luna cried. "Is that not why you are here? To punish me? I'm sorry Lord! Was the pleasure I gave you not satisfactory!?"

"Calm yourself girl," Amia commanded her. "You are not to be punished. The Lord merely wishes to speak with you."

At this point, the front door opened, and Erkan walked in.

"Sorry honey, I forgot something," he said, before he saw Mark and Amia. He immediately got on his knees. "Lady Amia! Lord!"

"Who are you?" Mark asked him.

"I am Erkan, Lord," he replied, trembling. "Merely one of your humble servants, not worthy of your interest."

"He's Luna's husband," Amia told him.

"Husband!?" Mark exclaimed.

"Yes Lord," Amia told him. "Marriage is quite common amongst the Heavenly Hosts. I myself am married to the Archangel Achré."

"I...I think we should leave," Mark said sadly.

"As you wish Lord," Amia said, before turning to the lesser angels. "Thank you for your hospitality."

"It was an honour," The two lesser angels said in unison. Mark and Amia got up, and left the cottage.

"She's...got a husband..." Mark said sadly.

"Lord, please forgive me for prying, but might I believe that you have a crush on Luna?" Mark nodded. "It's natural. Many blessed souls have favourite angels, and it's often the one that initially greeted them."

"Doesn't her husband mind?"

"He knows it's her job. In fact, it's his job too. They both work in the Eternal Rewards Department. They both spend their lives giving pleasure to those deemed worthy of eternal rewards."

Mark still seemed sad.

"Lord, I know it's difficult, but Luna and Erkan love each-other very much," Amia told him. "If you commanded her, Luna would spend eternity by your side, but as your personal assistant and chief advisor, I ask you not to. Love is a wonderful thing, and should not be broken up."

"Yes...I suppose so..."

"Instead, might I instead recommend you pursue a relationship with the girl who brought you to the party."

Mark perked up at this.

"I'm sorry Lord, am I prying too much?" Amia asked. "It's just that I saw how you looked at her, and I assumed you liked her."

"Jessica? Yeah, I do like her..." Mark admitted.

"Well how about you try to court her?" Amia suggested.

"No way. Her boyfriend would kill me," Mark said. "Actually, he's been missing for a while. Where is he?"

"What's his name?"

"Dan Everill."

Amia pulled a PDA out of her robes.

"Let's see..." She said, searching it. "Ah yes, Dan Everill. Was damned to Hell by direct order of God."

"I didn't do that!" Mark protested, and then thought back to what had happened. "Or maybe I did. I told him to go to Hell..."

"Seems you let your powers get the better of you," Amia said. "Would you like me to order his release?" Mark was about to decline, when he thought back to how sad Jessica had been.

"Yes..." Mark agreed. "I can't let Jessica be sad any more."

Amia typed some things on her PDA.

"Would you also like me to have his memory erased?" Amia asked. "It might be better for him if he doesn't remember the past few days."

"I guess so," Mark agreed. Amia typed some more things, and handed Mark the PDA and stylus.

"Just sign on the dotted line," she said. Mark did so, and handed it back to her. "There we are Lord. All done. Now then, what would you like to do now?"
