Dinner with Ashley

Spencer took Ashley to Thuong Thien. The two sit down as Ashley said "Smells great."

"It tastes better."

"So you know all the good places to eat huh?"

"Well, when you've got my cooking ability... you soon come to experience some of the finer restaurants of where you live."

Ashley giggled. "Not much of a cook?"

"No. You are not dating a chef."

"Damn."

"Not much of a cook either?"

"Let's just say we might get very familiar with this place."

A waitress comes over and takes their order. As she heads to the kitchen, Spencer said "So outside of art, what's your thing?"

"Hmm, not much really. Reading, TV, that kind of thing."

"Anything in particular you like?"

"Mysteries mainly. Guess I just like seeing things being pieced together."

"Is that how you paint?"

"Yeah, you could say. Every canvas is a mystery in a way."

"So you kinda just go with the flow?"

Ashley nodded. "Pretty much. Unless I'm doing something on commission."

"So how does that work teaching wise?"

"Different hats. I gotta make sure the kids understand the fundamentals."

"That sounds right. Amy seems to be enjoying your classes so you must be doing something right."

"That's good to hear."

That's when the waitress places a plate of food in front of Ashley, who thanks her. She takes a taste of her meal, nodding as the flavors hit her tongue. "Ohh that's great."

"Yeah?"

"Fantastic. You can take me here anytime."

The two quickly finish their meals, and Spencer paid. Outside, he said "So, what do you want to do now?"

"Hmmm, maybe we could head back to the apartment?" Ashley chuckled with a broad smile. Spencer smiled back, excited to have ignited the spark in a woman who a few hours ago was a teary mess.

"I like the way you think."
