Destination known

The next day, you arrive at the small village surrounding Addie’s inn mid afternoon. Leaving your small army behind, you and your group walk into town. It seems that your arrival has drawn attention, and you see people watching from nearby as you walk towards the inn. There’s definitely more people here than before, and all eyes are on you and your group, unsurprisingly.

You can hear some of them talking, but you can’t make out what they’re saying. It seems mostly curiosity, however, as no one appears particularly upset or excited. Looking around, you hear Alex giggle.

“It looks like we caught their attention!”

You hear Nadia chuckle. “Hardly surprising. We just showed up with an army.”

Sarah chimes in. “Not to mention a harem of beautiful women, and Nicholas in his armor, and even Rahu. He stands out just a bit.”

The girls all begin chatting among themselves, as Melora falls into step beside you. “There’s more going on here, Nicholas. I can sense…anticipation, worry. Not about us, but there’s a fear of something in the near future. It’s foggy to me, though.”

You nod. “Thanks. Hopefully we don’t cause too many problems.”

Melora smiles and kisses you on the cheek. You know that she’s been feeling less useful of late, especially when it comes to her powers. Though she’s a strong seer, the magnitude of the powers you’re dealing with now render her sight almost unusable. Though you assure her that it’s no problem, you can tell it’s eating at her thoughts. It’s nice to see her finding useful information to give you.

Your thoughts are interrupted as you reach the inn. The door swings open as your group approaches, and the kangaroo girl Addie emerges from within. She eyes your group, a smile on her face as she sees you in the lead.

“Well g'day there, stranger! It’s fahkin' nice ta see ya again. Lookin' all fancy, too.”

You chuckle. “Good to see you too, Addie. On a bit of a mission, you could say.”

She laughs. “I assumed as much. Got the whole bloody crowd with ya too, hmm? Why don’t ya come inside 'n tell me about it, 'n introduce me ta the new people at the same time.”

You nod. “Sounds good to me. You got anything good to eat? Traveling food isn’t the best.”

She nods, waving you inside. “Come on in, there’s a big pot of stew all ready. I’ll feed ya wile ya tell me all about it. Sound like a plan? Fahkin' too right, mate.”
